Hi

For the Dooleys, I have the Music Week scan which doesn't have them listed at all on 03/06/78. For #60 it has The Isley Brothers - Take Me To The Next Phase

The Record Mirror scan I have for this week has the note "Due to Bank Holiday weekend, the British Singles have been repeated from last week." Therefore it looks like Music Week managed to get hold of the chart, rather than reprinting the previous week?

----

Generally the credits I have on the site come from the OCC files, so if they're odd then the original files are wrong. From my time with ChartsPlus I know that the credits can be wrong/missing/incomplete etc.

I can amend those mentioned above, as they seem to be considered correct.

For the Drake entry I decided on Various Artists after seeing the cover on Wikipedia - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Lights-300x300.jpg and the description "Fourteen artists lent their voices as background vocals to the song: Alicia Keys, John Legend, The-Dream, Drake, Fergie, Kid Cudi, Elton John, Ryan Leslie, Charlie Wilson, Tony Williams, Elly Jackson, Alvin Fields, Ken Lewis, and Rihanna, who also sang the song's hook and is labeled as a featured artist on the single version."

Thanks.

Colin

'All of the Lights' is the trickiest one I've ever seen.

I've said that to me it is always just a Kanye West song without guests because giving Rihanna a credit wouldn't do justice to the others and "Various Artists" is just so stupid - there is not a musician/band called Various Artists.

I thought "All Of The Lights" at the time of release was generally credited to "Kanye West featuring Various Artists".

So it's obviously not a chart repeated from the previous week due to bank holidays.

It would be interesting to see the Music Week scan and compare/contrast.

Both the records in question (i.e. Dooleys & Isley Brothers) had disappeared from the chart by the next week so there's no help from a "last week" position in the chart for w/e 10th June.

Thanks, but I'm getting a 403 error (access denied?) from that link.

I've been trying to work out what happened in that post, seems Jester has been fiddling about. :(

Funny I do as well, but when I press Enter in the address bar I see the image. (Possibly something to do with server settings not allowing hotlinking.)

I changed it to just be the url for you, but seems it still won't work :(

Thank you Colin for your hard work!

About long featured artists list one more song came to my mind: The Collective - Teardrop. The question is, are all those artists featured or not? It seems on the cover they are listed, but it's debatable it they are really credited or the name, The Collective contains already all those artists?

Here's the Amazon link:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Teardrop-Labrinth-...5202&sr=8-1

Music Week credits it to "Kanye West feat. Drake & Rihanna". Polyhex has a strange credit of "Kanye West Featuring Various Artists"!

And polyhex is right. If you check the cover it says Kanye West feat. Various Artists :D

Thanks Colin.

So it looks like it was only the Number 55 and Number 60 positions that were affected.

I will change my records appropriately.

  • 2 weeks later...

I've noticed that for a couple of weeks, the whole chart was full of non-movers. For example, the week ending 19 Feb 2000 in the albums - everything was a non-mover http://www.chartstats.com/album_chart.php?week=20000219

There was also another time this happened, on the new year chart one time, but I can't find it. I also find it annoying how around the 1999-2000 era, only the Top 40 is shown in the albums.

Well if anyone has the rest of the top 75 albums chart for those years, then send it to him! If you go to the contact page and say you've got some chart data to send you should be able to find some way to get it to him as an e-mail attachment or some sort. This is what I did when I sent him some data a few years back.

Also RE: the album chart mentioned above - having just checked I believe he has the chart for 19/2/2000 posted as the 12/2/2000, so that's the one he seems to be missing and has somehow repeated that chart twice instead. It does affect the peak of some albums (e.g. Primal Scream - Exterminator peaked at #3, not #7).

Does anyone have the album chart for 12/2/2000 they could also send him to correct that? I don't myself, but I'm sure someone here MUST have...
