March 29, 201213 yr QgGAC812mtY Reached #9. The Euro 2004 equivalent of 'Hurry Up England' from 2006 as far as I can tell (both involved Christian O'Connell). I think a lot of the World Cup/European Championship tie-ins escape peoples minds after the tournament....saying that I did not hear that song or the "Hurry Up England" song at all during those football torunaments. I do remember one of the scumbag papers (The Star I think) telling people to boycott "Forca" by Nelly Furtado after England got knocked out by Portugal in Euro 2004....racist or what? March 29, 201213 yr This peaked at #6 OyTy9ns894M Blimey, that's a good one! Even I had forgotten this existed (which hasn't been the case for pretty much every other song mentioned here :drama:)
March 29, 201213 yr Listening to this one now....."Voodoo Child" by Rogue Traders in summer 2006: SrlhLaNClgw&ob=av2e
March 29, 201213 yr A top five hit in 2005, One World Project with Grief Never Grows Old; uyRasPFV_N4 And although Ain't That Just The Way and Stranded were huge and probably fairly well remembered, I always feel like I'm the only person that loved this #9 hit almost as much! BHkJG4DB9BU There was an Asian-Canadian (?) singer called Raghav that had a few top ten hits in the mid 00s too, they were so forgettable that I can't even remember the names of any of them off the top of my head!
March 29, 201213 yr I remember Raghav....yes they were forgettable, but I guess there was a market in the UK for him with the Asian diaspora. Grief Never Grows Old....yes I know it was for a good cause with the Tsunami, but ewww an awful song. They must have used a ton of incontinece pads for that song :D Lutricia
March 29, 201213 yr 9JkS9rYw_N4 #10 in 1998. Back in the days when having a big hit would often guarantee a semi-successful follow-up regardless. Although this is MILES better than Tubthumping, great riff. 2x86tostIKE Another from 1998, this is genuinely one of my favourite R&B songs ever. Sounds like a total classic, yet completely forgotten by most :(
March 29, 201213 yr 0Oz9vbJIYkM Cyndi Lauper eat your heart out! Although I do have quite a soft spot for this... 5m5x-DeD9XM Sleeper! I loved some of the stuff on their first two albums. ZQEmQ7Pv4jo When Fatboy Slim could do no wrong chart wise... sICf0XtTokk The early 90s, when things like this could still be successful. tCzrntPRQVA Loved this as much as the more famous song released before it.
March 29, 201213 yr ZQEmQ7Pv4jo When Fatboy Slim could do no wrong chart wise... This one was sampled in Danny Byrd's 2010 #36 hit 'Ill Behaviour' (feat. I-Kay). 6u1vq8xI1Vg
March 29, 201213 yr Mason - Perfect (Exceeder) I don't think this is forgotten at all. Girls quote "1, 2, 3, 4 lemme hear you scream if you want some more!" like ALL the time. Such a wonderful song.
March 29, 201213 yr 0Oz9vbJIYkM Cyndi Lauper eat your heart out! Although I do have quite a soft spot for this... Would you believe that this song was absolutely UNAVOIDABLE when I was living in America? A lot of the radio stations seemed to have this song in rotation. It's not my usual cup of tea, but it's got its charm.
March 30, 201213 yr Would you believe that this song was absolutely UNAVOIDABLE when I was living in America? A lot of the radio stations seemed to have this song in rotation. It's not my usual cup of tea, but it's got its charm. I remember reading that this song spent 9 weeks at number 2 in America....behind Macarena. How unlucky for Donna! I love this song and so many others here. Suppose I was a bit of a music geek in the 90s so a lot of the forgotten top 10 hits from that era are songs I absolutely love!
March 30, 201213 yr These top ten hits are quite forgotten, apologies if these have already been mentioned: Sugababes - Easy Fun Lovin' Criminals - Loco D-Side - Invisible Jedward - Under Pressure (Ice Ice Baby) Phixx - Hold On Me :D Edited March 30, 201213 yr by Griff
March 30, 201213 yr I was listening to 'Tell Me' by Mel B the other day, some of the solo spice stuff is awesome, including Beckham's 'A Mind of Its Own' or anything from Emma's second album
March 30, 201213 yr I heard "Outta Here" by Esmee Denters in ASDA last week! First time in nearly two years I may say.
March 30, 201213 yr I heard "Outta Here" by Esmee Denters in ASDA last week! First time in nearly two years I may say. ASDA FM seems to be the retirement home for forgotten top 10 hits. It's the only place I hear such gems as Lene Marlin's "Sitting Down Here" (played three times this week, at around 6:30PM each night) and Glorious by Andreas Johnsson (although the latter isn't as forgotten now that he's now everybody's favourite Swedish Eurovision also-ran).
