Posted March 23, 201213 yr Well, the lead single didn't exactly set the charts alight, but how will the album do?
March 23, 201213 yr I very much doubt it'll fail to make #1, but sales are a different matter. I think there were reports of 50k pre-orders back in February, so if those are all added onto next week (which they will be), it could do quite well. I'm going for similar numbers to Hard Candy, possibly a little less, so 85-90k.
March 23, 201213 yr It will undoubtedly start from #1 but I don't want to imagine the drastic fall sales-wise the next week.

March 23, 201213 yr presumably you're not thinking of a Christina Aguilera sized fall, though! Surely she's not that irrelevant. I very much doubt she'll miss #1, I think she'll sell about 88k, because there won't be as much interest past the core fanbase who'be already pre-ordered! I haven't heard all the tracks yet though, so it might sell more after further singles...
March 23, 201213 yr presumably you're not thinking of a Christina Aguilera sized fall, though! Christina didn't fall THAT much saleswise, it was just the Mother's Day effect which caused loads of albums to overtake it at once. I agree exactly with what Gezza said by the way. March 23, 201213 yr Fathers Day* But yeah, I fully expect a decent fall from #1 in week 2, probably to #8 or something and then perhaps out of the top 20 within 2/3 more weeks.

March 23, 201213 yr Number 1 of course and sales between 75-100k The big question is how much will MDNA plummet in the second week. I'm expecting a big fall :(
March 23, 201213 yr Can't see it breaking 100k or selling less than 75k so somewhere in that range ^_^ She's heading for one of her poorest selling albums though. If not the poorest of her career...
March 23, 201213 yr I've voted like the majority - #1 selling between 75-100k. How much has 'Hand Candy' sold since its release in 2008?

March 23, 201213 yr I voted #1 and between 50-75k. If it does exceed that I don't think it will be by much.
March 23, 201213 yr Because the album is FANTASTIC and will probably see good reviews, I think 80k and then couple of weeks in top 10.
March 23, 201213 yr She's released one of the worst singles of her career as a lead single...and the second single is even worse.... so casual observers will avoid like leprosy. Of course, the loons will buy it regardless (and so will I)..... but you really have to question what she's thinking with these first 2 singles... especially when there FAR FAR better tracks on the album......
March 23, 201213 yr Number 1 on about 75k, with a fall to like 6/7 the week after. Shame she didn't release I Don't Give A as the lead single, plus not having another single in the UK between GMAYL flopping and the album being released doesn't help...

GGW is a bit generic and doesn't really deserve (bad word there lol) to open the album. In current chart climate, there are no potential hit singles on the album at all imo but it's definitely great as a whole. Edited March 24, 201213 yr by SKOB
