Which songs do you think could get to Number 1 over the next few weeks? It will be interesting to see if we can predict them. The ones that spring to mind which I think have a good chance of getting to the top are:

Carly Rae Jespen - Call Me Maybe

Usher - Climax

Conor Maynard - Can't Say No

Calvin Harris feat. Ne-Yo - Let's Go

B.o.B. - So Good

Far East Movement feat Justin Bieber - Live My Life

Tulisa – We Are Young

fun. feat Janelle Monae – We Are Young

Jessie J - Laser Light

Those are all out in the next 6 weeks... anything else you think that could be Number 1 between now and mid-May?

From that list, I'd say the following have a very good chance of being #1.

Carly Rae Jespen - Call Me Maybe :D

Conor Maynard - Can't Say No ( )

Tulisa – We Are Young :)

fun. feat Janelle Monae – We Are Young :D

Not heard the Calvin Harris track so can't really judge but it could be a contender.

Carly Rae Jepsen and fun. are the only ones I'm sure will be #1. Maybe Calvin Harris aswell.

Agreed. But as it stands Calvin Harris is out the same week as Carly Rae Jepsen so that could be an interesting battle. I am pretty convinced the label will bring the release for CMM forward, they surely can't wait another 3 weeks to release it, must be close to the top 10 combined now? If Carly is brought forward, then I think Calvin will likely go to #1.

Fun will be HUGE and again, I can't see them waiting until mid May to release it.

Noticed Tulisa is out the same week as Rita Ora and I can see RIP being a big contender as well.

Using the Sunday as the date, this is judging by the current release schedule, the upheaval of fakes could easily change things:

1st April: Chris Brown obviously

8th April: I can't see anything of note out and Chris is decreasing so I reckon either Sean or Nicki for this one

15th April: Usher - Climax easily I'd imagine, otherwise dead week

22nd April: Conor Maynard - Can't Say No, with potential challenge from Train

29th April: Calvin Harris feat Ne-Yo - Let's Go, if its still released at this time, then I think this will beat Call Me Maybe, another DJ Fresh/Emeli situation here I think, unless Carly's team wake the hell up and release earlier of course

6th May: I'd like to say Sub Focus :( I'm not sure with this week atm

13th May: Tulisa - We Are Young probably <_< although Rita Ora could very easily beat her

20th May: well if its still this week then fun. most likely, but I think it would've been severely damaged by the fakes and so could easily miss out, I really hope they release it earlier, although it would be rather intriguing to see the same song title knock the other one off

oh and Justin Bieber of course if he releases it soon

I really don't think I'm being a dilusional stan but I Where Have You Been by Rihanna can reach the top spot!

My predictions (week by week):

01/04/12 = Chris Brown - Turn Up The Music

08/04/12 = Nicki Minaj - Starships (surely the video will be released within the next week or so?)

15/04/12 = Carly Rae Jepson - Call Me Maybe (if the record company have any brains, this will be brought forward)

22/04/12 = Conor Maynard - Can't Say No

29/04/12 = Carly Rae Jepson - Call Me Maybe (possibly returning to no. 1 as Conor will no doubt be a non #1)

06/05/12 = Carly Rae Jepson - Call Me Maybe

13/05/12 = Tulisa – We Are Young (a close battle with Rita Ora, Tulisa could win the weekly battle but Rita Ora will probably win the YTD war)

20/05/12 = fun. feat Janelle Monae – We Are Young

27/05/12 = fun. feat Janelle Monae – We Are Young (this is bound to be no. 1 for at least 2 weeks)

03/06/12 = The Sex Pistols - God Save The Queen :kink:

10/06/12 = Baddiel, Skinner & The Lightning Seeds - Three Lions 2012 :kink:

Here is my view of how things will work

from 2nd April:

Call Me Maybe gets an early release (not a certainty, but i'm calling it), and goes straight to #1 (if that doesn't happen, i'll go with Starships)

from 9th April:

Call Me Maybe stays at No.1, beating Climax and Starships. We Are Young will probably get an early release around this time too

from 16th April:

Call Me Maybe, again....

from 23rd April:

Calvin Harris' bland new song will undoubtedly have a good chance, possibly Cover Drive as well. But i'd stick with Calvin here. We Are Young will rise to No.2

from 30th April:

According to iTunes, Conor Maynard's song is out on that week, so i'll just go with that. Easy No.1 for Conor, We Are Young stays at No.2

from 7th May:

R.I.P goes to #1, We Are Young stays at #2 etc. etc....

from 14th May:

Tulisa's We Found Love rip-off will be pushed back a week to avoid clashing with R.I.P., meaning we get yet another non-#1 (with We Are Young at #2 of course...)

from 21st May:

[insert random non-#1] keeps We Are Young at #2.......

YOU GET THE POINT

Just disagree with So Good & Laser Light. Live my life could be top 5 on iTunes for 1 or 2 days nothing more than that.

I hope We are young is not the new 'Moves like Jagger' as SevenSeize suggests :P

I find it's the ones that aren't predicted, that can be some of the best ones - Gotye is a prime example.

What, not Loreen - Euphoria? :o

Anyway, Carly and fun. are certain #1's, Usher, Tulisa and Conor Maynard are likely #1's, beyond that I don't know.

fun. will almost certainly be #1 whenever it's released assuming it's in the next six or so weeks. Hopefully it be the same week as "Call Me Maybe" as I reckon it's the only thing around that could beat her - although I'd like to see Usher make #1 as well. Given Chris Brown already has #1 in the bag I'd actually like him to hold on next week, makes things a bit neater and I'm not a massive fan of any of the other contenders either.
As much as I like 'Climax' and can see it doing well on fake downloads at the moment, I honestly can't see it getting number 1. It seems to be one of those long running number 3 or number 4 peaking hits to me. Maybe The Killers 'Human'-esque? Somethings telling me that it's not going to get all the way.

Yeah I agree actually, without a doubt it's gonna do better than YDO and TTT, if sales were low enough then it could even get to the top.

I'm surprised no one thinks B.o.B. could get to Number 1!

My predictions for the Potential Upcoming Number 1 singles are :

08-04-12 = Carly Ray Jepsen - Call me maybe (Already her fake versions are very high!!!)

15-04-12 = Carly Ray Jepsen - Call me maybe (Again)

22-04-12 = Marina & The Diamonds – Primadonna (I have a good feeling about Marina this year)

29-04-12 = Cover Drive – Sparks (They have already an up-tempo hit, why not a slow one..?)

06-05-12 = The Saturdays – 30 Days (To Love) (I know that it's not their best song but i think that this time will be their big moment)

13-05-12 = Tulisa – We Are Young (She became more popular because of X-Factor and she will promote it everywhere)

20-05-12 = fun. feat Janelle Monae – We Are Young (It's one of the most promising songs in this year - Surely a No.1)

27-05-12 = fun. feat Janelle Monae – We Are Young (The same with Carly Rae Jepsen. They deserve a second week in a row on top)

I highly doubt Primadonna will get top 10, let alone number 1.

I highly doubt Primadonna will get top 10, let alone number 1.

I know that "Hollywood" was her best song to achieve something like that and it peaked only 12th. But i think that she has gained a lot of hype from You tube and maybe it will end up in the Top 10. But i have a good feeling for her. If you buy it all of you, surely it will be No.1..

My predictions...

08/04/12 Carly Ray Jepsen - Call Me Maybe

15/04/12 Nicki Minaj - Starships

22/04/12 Nicki Minaj - Starships

29/04/12 Nicki Minaj - Starships

06/05/12 Conor Maynard - Can't Say No

13/05/12 Tulisa - Young

20/05/12 fun. feat Janelle Monae - We Are Young (maybe The Saturdays - 30 Days if this loses sales from fake versions)

27/05/12 fun. feat Janelle Monae - We Are Young

06/06/12 Alexandra Burke - Let It Go

I highly doubt Primadonna will get top 10, let alone number 1.

She "flopped" with the fantastic Radioactive, and Primadonna is good but nowhere near as good as Radioactive. Lucky if it will go top 20 imo.

01/04/12 = Chris Brown - Turn Up The Music

Having found out that 'Call Me Maybe' is getting released this Sunday, I'll amend the following:

08/04/12 = Carly Rae Jepson - Call Me Maybe

So could mean Carly gets 4 non consecutive weeks at no. 1 with her run at the top broken by "one week wonder" Conor Maynard.

What, not Loreen - Euphoria? :o

I shamefully hadn't even thought of Eurovision. I think as far as the UK are bothered, there will be more focus on the Queen's Jubilee than the winner of Eurovision. However, it'd be brilliant if 'Euphoria' was #1 but sadly think low top 10 is the best the song will do here. Personally I think it'll be somewhere between 11-30. :(
