Seeing as others are posting their predictions, I'm going to say next weeks top 5 will be...

01. Usher 'Climax'

02. Nicki Minaj 'Starships' (Surely the video is just around the corner)

03. Carly Rae-Jepsen 'Call Me Maybe'

04. Justin Bieber 'Boyfriend'

05. Sean Paul 'She Doesn't Mind'

(This is all obviously changing if fun. are in fact released at midnight, too. :P - Just knock everyone down a position)

I'm sure Carly will hold on, with Bieber coming in second and Usher coming in third. I hope I'm wrong, but its the most likely outcome I see atm :(

The Starships video isn't going to more than double its sales which is what it'd need to do to overtake Carly...

I think next week:

1 Carly

2 Bieber (unfortunately, but hopefully will be incredibly frontloaded)

3 Usher

4 Nicki

5 Sean

fun. will be #2 if they release.

I think the top 5 next week will be:

1. Carly Rae Jepsen

2. Nicki Minaj

3. Sean Paul

4. Gotye

5. Usher

I'm hoping that it's fun. if they release or Usher if they don't, although I wouldn't mind Carly staying there since it looks like being a genuinely big hit and it'd be a shame if it only got a week at the top (see also "Titanium").
Have we been given a reason to believe Fun are releasing or is it just speculation? Too lazy to read back.

Is Nicki not looking to do at LEAST 60k this week? An extra 20k because of the video seems likely to me and she'd need at least 80k to be above Carly (who I think will fall to around 80k of sales next week, 2 weeks over 100k and I will be surprised.)

EDIT: fun. is just speculation as the fakes are doing similar to what Carly's fakes did before she pushed her date forward to that weekend. :)

Thanks Jonjo. If fun. release they probably will knock off Carly but I see her holding on against any other competition.
If fun. release they will get to #2. There is no way Carly is being knocked off this week, not for Bieber, not for Usher and not for fun.
I think fun. would at least run her close. Nobody else will though.
It's weird to think that 'We Are Young' is currently #11 on Amazon and has already been Top 10, yet Amazon is so insignificant it hasn't made an impact on the chart.

Remember asking this 2 weeks ago wondering if a top 10 position on amazon would lead it to sell enough to be top 200 in the singles at least - how much would the no200 single sell?Maybe 800 copies?

Got my copy of we are young last month on amazon...wonder if it means technically it was an oa/os release here lol?

The other 'We Are Young' fake climbing into the top 40 already

So far this year, sales for the #200 have averaged over 1,300.

Yes, at #130 on 3/3.

Bré's pointless fact machine:

If '212' makes the top 10 it'll be only the seventh top ten hit ever with an integer for a title (not counting songs whose titles are the names of integers, like 'One' by U2, or titles which are expressions repesenting integers like '3x3' by Genesis).

The others:

Prince - 1999 (#2, 1985)

Paul Hardcastle - 19 (#1, 1985)

Wyclef Jean feat. Mary J. Blige - 911 (#9, 2000)

James Blunt - 1973 (#4, 2007)

Feist - 1234 (#8, 2007)

Britney Spears - 3 (#7, 2009)

'1234' entered the top 10 the week '1973' left - how strange.

19/2000 was a Top 10 hit for Gorillaz in 2001.

BREFAIL. :(

The last time I checked '19/2000' is not a number.

Yes it is it is 0.0095. But 2012 was a Top 10 hit for Jay Sean so if you don't count numbers expressed as fractions you are still wrong anyway. :P

No, numbers expressed as fractions don't count. For the same reason I didn't count '3x3' by Genesis (#10 in 1982). Needs to be an integer :P

And Jay's top 10 hit was called '2012 (It Ain't The End)', which is once again not a number.

You'll have to do better than that to beat the pointless fact machine :magic:
