Actually, seeing as Canadians are so popular atm, Nelly Furtado could actually have success with her next era, she has a single out this month (probably like June in the UK then :P) and the album out in June :D

Why the sudden rise for it?

I absolutely ADORE that song, reminds me of so many innocent memories from the 80s... and then so many less innocent ones from going to 80s themed nights out! :D

Looking at the bars, I think Carly looks safe for another week, there seems to be a large gap between 2 and 3, if Nicki Minaj drops her video this week she looks pretty safe for a top 3 position, which puts Usher probably managing a top 5 entry, only just, with Sean Paul or Gotye in the top 5.

I think...

1 Carly

2 Justin

3 Nicki

4 Usher

5 Gotye

I don't agree with the acts you're talking about but I do definitely agree that Canadian music is underrated. So many good alternative acts come from Canada.

Grimes to get a shock #1 next week? :o :D

In other news, the amazing "Hold On" by Alabama Shakes is single of the week (i.e. FREE) on iTunes this week!

Bre said in his update it's in the EDF energy advert on TV.

dont forget boys too :P

You got there before me. :P

Justin didn't have pre-orders, BTW, it just went up on Sunday. Hoping Justin doesn't start dropping now, a #2 would be great for him!

:offtopic:

How long does the reduced songs to 59p songs usually last in that price?

Usually it's about a week, but sometimes longer, for example Coldplay's Paradise was reduced for AGES which is why it spent a long time at #1 on iTunes (along with the X Factor performance boost)

Thanks :) I've been wondering for ages now but never bothered asking anyone

I do wish Climax wasn't so high, I do like it a bit still but I've gotten so bored of it recently :( It's just like he's trying to be a wannabe The Weeknd, but at least it's a lot better than the 'club banger' dirge he usually churns out to get a hit - I've only liked a couple of songs before this.

The little bouncy flame is so damn cute and I want one.

Justin already down to 80% of Carly! :cheer:

I think Chris Brown will have some Weeknd-esque songs on his album too. It's clearly a very popular sound now, and Adele's success I think will help radio play that type of song more now.

I don't think we'll get too many more club bangers from Usher in the future thankfully (I think we will on his new album, but I'm not sure after that).
