I know Amazon's MP3 sales have little influence on the charts - but Carly Rae Jepsen is at #1, whilst Justin Bieber isn't showing up in the top 100. Not that this makes much difference anymore, now that 'Boyfriend' has fallen to 70% of 'Call Me Maybe' and looks set to drop even further. It'll be Jepsen vs. fun. this week.

Fun are still not in the top 1000 on iTunes yet though!

Not surprised. A lot of people don't know it's out yet and they have a bunch of fake versions higher up in the chart to contend with. Not to mention there was an error for me when I tried to buy it earlier. It should hopefully appear in the next hour or so.

I think Carly has #1 this week, unless fun. are able to get to #1 with a good sized lead (of about 20-30%) by tomorrow evening.

When I clicked 'buy song' for 'We Are Young' it didn't work, but I then clicked 'buy album' and it worked fine.

fun. are already beginning to bug me, what with starting with a lower case f and having the full stop as well. It will appear in my database as Fun

The track sounds alright though - though from reading their entry on Wikipedia I was expecting a more rock-based sound

I guess the artist it would be closest to would be Red Box - anyone remember them?

"We Are Young" enters at #674.

Edit: Now at #314

14 (0.2080) Jessie J • Domino [2 versions]

15 (0.1875) The Script • The Man Who Can't Be Moved

Justin Bieber (dark red) is looking likely to be overtaken by Usher's 'Climax' at some point tomorrow. Nicki Minaj and Gotye (combined) are also getting closer and closer, will be interesting to see how fun.'s premature (though overdue) release affects the iTunes top 10.

I think it was rush released, because of the fake versions charting so high. It was not planned.

We should definately find out what record companies represent certain artists and whoevers on twitter could tell them the position of the fake version of their upcoming hit on itunes to warn them, i would say they would respond sooner.Great to see Fun being released though, mixes things up in the chart this week.

Def also shows that international hits should be released at the same time everywhere!

Exactly. It'll get to #1 whatever happens imo. It's like it wouldn't have mattered if Party Rock Anthem or Give Me Everything or We Found Love or Titanium or Somebody That I used to Know were released mid-week, they'd've been #1 whatever happened, so I think it's the same with We Are Young (infact Titanium and We Found Love were released mid-week, not sure about the others).

SO HAPPY FOR SWAY!!!! :cheer:  Now he just needs to get to #9 before fun. get top 10.

Your right but leaving it until 13th may would mean it would hit near no1 with high sales but fall quickly so its good its released monday night or whatever.i actually brought it on amazon at the start of march so technically its been available!

Credit where its due here - Amazon offer multiple 'singles of the week'. For those looking for something new to listen to, or like what they've heard recently from the artists - Labrinth's 'Climb on Board' (taken from 'Electronic Earth') and Santigold's 'Big Mouth' (from the upcoming 'Master of My Make-Believe') are both available for free.
Ideally both "212" and "Level Up" would overtake Katy Perry before "We Are Young" does, but I think it's unlikely.

 8. Level Up (Radio Edit) - Sway

:left: 9. 212 (feat. Lazy Jay) - Azealia Banks

 10. Part of Me - Katy Perry

As long as Katy stays #10 until fun. climb in then this is perfect :cheer: Great to see Sway looking fairly safe for top 10 anyway, multiple versions of songs like Titanium/Next To Me etc. could still pose a problem but then Sway has a second version top 200 as well plus EP sales and whatnot which should hopefully come close to cancelling that out and he should continue to climb for a while longer anyway. Although if Next To Me beats it into the top 10 then there's a Brit in there anyway I suppose. Just a Brit with a very boring song.

212 will have a harder time managing to get in the official top 10, this may well be her last chance now R1 have dropped her from their playlist so I really hope she manages it.

I would've preferred Chris Brown to be the one to lose the top 10 effect, but Katy will do. :coffee:

Just glad Sway and Azealia are looking like they could be safe.

Kworb has Bieber on 0.65 and dark red and Usher on 0.5 and dark green - I could actually see Usher overtaking by tomorrow at this rate :D Not sure if he'll overtake officially but I really hope so.

Breathe Carolina at #22 pleases me greatly, I was convinced they were going to do a Boys Like Girls and miss the top 40.

I wouldn't have thought you'd be a fan of Breathe Carolina / 'Blackout'! I was briefly obsessed with it about 2 months ago but went off it very quickly but it's still good to see it making a long overdue impression now.

 80. Too Close - Alex Clare

I see this is now taking off here after randomly charting on the Hot 100 a couple of weeks ago!

It's cause they're totes indie and stuff.

I'm not actually a great fan of it, I just like the idea of random US bands getting hit singles largely against the grain

Breathe Carolina just remind me of a better version of Cobra Starship who had two top 20 hits so it's not that 'against the grain' IMO :P
