Alex Care  to #42.

The Beatles  to #49.

Looks like The Beatles can re-enter the top 40 with "Here comes the sun" next week if they keep climing! Alex Care could possibly enter the top 40 this week if he keeps climbing

What ad is the Beatles song on?That would be a class addition to the top 40!

Wonder if Travellers Chant can make it into the top 40 this week?

I thought We Are Young would get into the top 10 by now, but it will surely do later today I think.

I'm also surprised :o

It looks like WAY is not going to be as huge as everyone thought it would be.

oh come on, don't start writing it off yet :P its still being partly hindered by the fake version (26), when that's removed/falls down and once it gets top 10, it should move very quickly into the top 5

well it has been released with no warning...

Nah, I'm pretty sure it'll still be massive. It's off to a slower start than I expected, but I don't think we should jump to conclusions after just one day. There's 9 months of the year left, and it hasn't been promoted that much yet. The fact that it's #12 on iTunes after about 24 hours and on such little airplay suggests it'll be very big imo (plus it's US success and the quality of the song itself).

Will the fake version actually chart?

I don't see why not. I think it could even chart in the mid-weeks tomorrow, but will probably end up outside the top 75 by the end of the week.

Radio play has only just begun - it will get to the top 2 at least and sell near a million copies!

Here Comes The Sun wouldn't be a top 40 re-entry, it was never released as a single and only charted for the first time in 2010 when all their songs became available on iTunes (entered at #64 then so should be able to beat that peak).

Alex Clare heading for a top 40 hit then?

-x-

I was just waiting for someone to say We Are Young is underperforming :drama: I said the moment I found out it was released early that it'd probably take a couple of days to properly take off, a la 'Wild Ones' and I'm 99.99% certain that's all that's happening now. Especially as it has barely any airplay yet.

Yes, all fake versions chart now (they used to be excluded before the start of 2011 apart from certain random exceptions but since then I haven't seen any of them being excluded). It was #64 last week :P

Gosh, We Are Young is so underperforming.
Im looking forward to seeing if the fake one is above the real one in the chart show tomorrow.Incidently when do the midweeks for the chart show get counted.is it just sales up to midnight past there?

It almost certainly will be. The fake has been selling for 3 days and got close to the top 20 whereas the real version has only really started selling this evening. And yes it's up to midnight on Tuesday I think.

Fun. will have to wait until tomorrow midday or so to break the top 10 hen, that will be it for tonight id say!

"We Are Young" to #11.

"Too Close" to #41.

"Here Comes The Sun" to #47.

So Usher could get to #2 officially this week despite never holding the position on iTunes if "Boyfriend" tails off sharply and "We Are Young" overtakes both fairly quickly. It is fairly unlikely though, although it'd be similar to Jessie J making a second week at #1 with "Price Tag" despite being behind Chipmunk for most of the week and then GaGa at the death.

I'm not holding out any hopes for Breathe Carolina going top 10, "Blackout" does seem to be climbing for far longer than I expected it to but it'll probably have a run similar to Paramore's "Ignorance".

Great to see "The Swarm" back in the top 40, its longevity is fantastic given who it's made by

Blackout up to #14. :yahoo: I wasn't expecting to see Breathe Carolina doing that well in the UK. I've read they reached only number 32 on the Billboard Hot 100 (last year?).

The new M&S ad.
