John Legend, Train, Jason Mraz all doing good business, and all acts that i felt would not have really bothered the charts too much again. 2,000 sales lead for Mraz is good but id never underestimate Adele overtaking and a part of me would like to see that happen as im all for Adele breaking more and more chart records.
Who is still buying that Adele album??
Good chance that Carly could get 80-90k at least, and if it gets used at all on The Voice/BGT or something similar it could be close to 100k again!:D

IF thats the case maynard could do 65-70k then with the bars on itunes this week!!

There must be one week where no-one complains about Adele's 21. It's sold over four million, so quite obviously, no everyone in the UK owns it!

Sales will be low so Adele could yet snatch the number 1, i didnt expect Jason Mraz to be even in with a shout of number 1 to be honest considering he had a big hit with im yours and his last album didnt even make the top 40.

Not true, his last album 'We Sing, We Dance, We steal Things' peaked at No. 8 in 2008

Midweek Charts update: Jessie set to light up Top 10 again

Jessie J is on course for her sixth UK Top 10 hit in the space of little more than a year with sales of her David Guetta pairing Laserlight up more than 500% on the week.

The Island/Lava single has moved in the week so far 26-5 with latest Official Charts Company midweek Data showing its sales by the end of business on Thursday were 541.6% higher than over the same period the week before. Jessie J’s previous Top 10 hits are Do It Like A Dude (peaking at 2), Price Tag (1), Nobody’s Perfect (9), Domino (1) and Who You Are (8).

Making an even steeper climb from where it was on last Sunday’s final chart on the latest midweek countdown is John Legend’s 2005 hit Ordinary People following the song’s exposure on last Saturday’s The Voice. Two contestants, Becky Hill and Jaz Ellington, performed the song on the BBC One programme and as a result the RCA-handled release immediately re-entered the UK singles chart the following day and is now up to fourth position in the week so far.

Interscope/Polydor’s Carly Rae Jepsen is comfortably poised to spend a third week at number one with Call Me Maybe, while new Parlophone act Conor Maynard is set to debut at two with Can’t Say No and former Billboard Hot 100 number one We Are Young by fun featuring Janelle Monae looks likely to break into the top three. The Fueled By Ramen/Atlantic track was seventh on last Sunday’s chart.

There is a close battle at the top of the artist albums market currently with Atlantic act Jason Mraz’s newly-issued Love Is A Far Letter Word just ahead of XL’s second Adele album 21, which is seeking a 23rd week at number one. Cash Money/Island’s Nicki Minaj drops 2-3 as things currently stand with Pink Friday – Roman Reloaded, while Lana Del Rey’s Polydor debut Born To Die climbs 6-4 and Island/Lava’s Jessie J drops 4-5 with Who You Are. Also among the Top 10 sellers at this stage of the week is the brand new album from Columbia’s Train with California 37 registering as a new entry at eight.

do you think Nicki could close the gap on Jason Mraz with her Graham Norton appearance today?

Is she performing? I'm guessing it will be Starships if she is, which probably won't help the album as much as her next single would. She needs to move on already, it probably explains why her album isn't selling as much - most people have only heard Starships from it! The video STILL hasn't been released :drama:

Given that it's so close between Mraz and Adele, I guess that 21 may be number one. There's a lot of Adele's news around (Ivor Novello+Time 100+ Billboard Awards) and the album is rising on Itunes.

Thanks Robbie, I've added MW report to your update.

If anyone wants any artist requests just fire away, I don't have time to do an artists update

I'd rather have Adele at #1 to be honest - just to end this hideous string of one-week'ed #1 albums.

Odd that 'LaserLight' is ahead of 'So Good', when B.o.B was ahead for a lot of the week and has the additional sales of purchasing the EP. With John Legend at #4, I imagine we'll see both Jessie and B.o.B advance a place each - pushing 'Ordinary People' down to #6 (still an incredible re-peak!).

Probably gonna get another one next week - Jack White.

I really hope Jason can make it to #1. I really like his album!

It could be quite close for Marina, but I'm hopeful she will get her first top 10 hit on Sunday.

Madonna is doing better than I expected too, but that could be due to the low sales climate.

I guess this summer is going to be hideous for album sales. I'm guessing we'll see weeks of 15K #1s or perhaps even less! As at the moment, the release schedule looks pretty quiet for July/August.

I'm sure I saw Jack White's album this afternoon. Odd.... Has he done previous solo albums?

Nope, his first one. I thought it was out next week, surely a contender for #1 with these sales. Looking at the release schedule, we could have a #1 run all with pretty dire sales:

Jason Mraz - Love Is A Four Letter Word

Jack White - Blunderbuss

Marina and the Diamonds - Electra Heart

B.o.B - Strange Clouds / Keane - Strangeland

Tenacious D - Rize of the Fenix

Tom Jones - Spirit In The Room

fun. - Some Nights / Paloma Faith - Fall To Grace / Scissor Sisters - Magic Hour

Alexandra Burke - Heartbreak on Hold

A lot of those will probably lose out to Adele, Jessie J, Lana Del Rey or Emeli Sandé and one or two (almost certainly Alexandra, possibly Paloma as well) should actually sell decently.
