IT'S TIME TO SHINE ON AN ALL-NEW "GLEE" TUESDAY, MAY 1, ON FOX

Whoopi Goldberg ("The View") and NeNe Leakes ("The Real Housewives of Atlanta") Guest-Star

Rachel and Kurt finally get their chance to audition for the New York Academy of the Dramatic Arts. Meanwhile, Puck makes a decision about his future after a meeting with his father in the all-new "Choke" episode of GLEE airing Tuesday, May 1 (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX. (GLE-318) (TV-14 D, L)

Whoopi is playing a character called Carmen Tibideaux who works for NYADA & Puck's father is being played by Thomas Calabro.

I think this is the episode where Rachel is meant to be doing Kelly Clarkson ('Cry').

Songs confirmed;

'School's Out'

'Shake It Out'

'Cell Block Tango'

'Not The Boy Next Door'

'Cry'

'The Rain In Spain'

Really happy about 'Shake It Out' [though it's another to be added to the list that both Glee & Smash have done]

And of course 'Cell Block Tango', easily the best thing to come out of Chicago.

Surely the domestic violence plot must be

Cooter and Shannon

, I can't see it being anyone else.

Although Cry would suggest Finchel, that would be too shocking for Glee surely?

I haven't read too many spoilers on this ep but I'd have thought it'd be about

Puck's father

GREAT. I just wanted Santana to do a solo on this song.

I was looking forward to SIO being a great Tina solo :( She's taken a back seat this season, I guess it's good she has prominent vocals at least!

Although as she is one of the few staying next season, I wonder if they'll just bump her up to nu-Rachel next season, or will the new characters again push her to the background?

Just listening to the songs for this episode. Really impressed. Not The Boy Next Door is amazing, I think Chris hits the high F or the G. Amazing.

Shake It Out is good, but am I alone in fed up with Santana singing? She seems to have sung in nearly EVERY episode this series, maybe with the exception of one or two songs.

OMG SUE!!

"You don't have to have a change of clothes. I have a tent you can wear!"

*DEAD*

Edit: Overall a fantastic episode. 'Cry' and 'Shake It Out' were the obvious standout songs. But I loved the use of them and the other songs. Shades of "old school" Glee in there. Sue's lines were brilliant. I still can't get over the fact they missed the opportunity to cover Rihanna's 'Love The Way You Lie (Part II)' or something though. Lea Michele is such a fantastic actress as is Dot Jones.

Great performances all around this episode, especially from Dot and Lea who did a brilliant job with 'Cry' but despite all that I'd still love a happy ending (well, something will probably work out but I'd like Rachel at NYADA).

Come round to the arrangement they've done on 'Shake It Out' (though it was a bit awkward to have Sugar sitting with them but not singing) & I really enjoyed Kurt's performance of 'Not The Boy Next Door' too. I agree with Jonjo about parts feeling like how 'Glee' used to and should feel.

I thought that was fabulous too  No Hugh Jackman but what the hell.
