His music is hardly "high culture" but it's like he turned around the music I heard being played from tinny phone speakers at the back of buses between the ages of 9 and 14 and made it GOOD and NOT TACKY. (yes really)

Daft Punk's Discovery is MUCH better. This album never gets old and sounds fresh no matter how many times you play it. Everyone interested in electronic music will remember that album in the years to come. -_-

 

Also Daft Punk's Discovery is NOT tacky. A lot of electronic music producers tried to replicate DP sound but nobody came close. Anyone that knows something about electronic music also knows that Daft Punk made some quality music and they are an influential band.

 

I bet that Rustie would sell his soul to make music half as good as Daft Punk. ^_^

Of course Daft Punk will remain legends and Rustie will remain in obscurity.

I have my reasons to hate that song. Not just because it's terrible but because it finished one place above "my" song on UP7. Rant over.

It is absolutely f***ing terrible anyway, regardless of where it finished in UP7

Soundcloud is down, and there are some entries submitted with such a link. Should I ask those affected to find another link or upload their song to a different site, or should I just continue with things as they are and expect the site to be fixed sometime soon? If it's not up and running by the end of the day even, regardless of that I will be PM'ing the UP IX album to everyone, so there shouldn't be any trouble getting to hear those songs. Waiting is another possible method, I presume. Either way I'm almost ready to get the contest started. I have briefly skimmed through most of the entries (for structural purposes), and there seems to be a lot of good music present!
