X factor USA has gone to a new low if they have signed Shitney Spears.

The can't sing live - and no talent nutter will probably cause the show to end after the next series as ratings plummet.

I thought last series was bad with L.A. Reid on the panel - now viewers could turn off in droves as they have got 2 nomarks.

Clearly Fox are exceedingly desperate to make this a hit.

But will have failed dismally

You're kidding right? I don't think Britney Spears will be a particularly good judge, but you're a bloody moron if you don't think this will be good. Absolute sure-fire ratings winner. Might not be sustainable in the long-term, but for the short-term it will eb pretty effective. Lucky for Murdoch you're not in charge of FOX!

Get over yourself, you blind fool. Just because you don't like her music doesn't mean this isn't a complete masterstroke - she won't be a great judge at all, but there's no denying that Britney will pull in the ratings.

I'm sorry but for god's sake SHUT UP moaning about EVERYTHING to do with all decisions in reality TV. If Britney is that bad don't watch it, she's no worse than Paula Abdul and Cheryl Cole in the 'can they actually even sing?' stakes, and she's a popular star (even with the flop era) who will undeniably bring in new viewers. No-one goes 'oh she chopped her hair off a few years ago the crazy bitch, I'm never watching the show again!', she might not be Whitney Houston in the vocal stakes but you can't deny Britney is a smart choice.
It's going to be car-crash tv and incredibly embarrassing to watch though.

I highly doubt that. She's there to win ratings, and that is one thing she can do very well. Her guest appearance on Glee saw it's ratings spike. She has a very devoted fan base who will tune in weekly to see their idol.

I don't know. I still think she will be a pleasant surprise to many. She has certainly had her fair share of experience within the industry, she's experienced both ends of it, the highest of the highs and the lowest of the lows. If it was the UK show, I'd think differently, but the fact that her last era in America has been so big for her, proves she is still relevant there and people still have a lot of respect for her there. (No matter what us British public think of her - we're British, we mostly only like to focus on the negative side of things) I don't know, maybe with me being a fan of hers I'm just being optimistic, but I can't see this doing nothing but helping her get back to a stable state of mind and getting her back in the public eye for the best.
I really hope Britney does surprise people and wins people over. I'd love to see her shut a few people up.
Britney and Demi are going to be interesting choices if this is proved to be correct. Hope Demi does well out of this.

I'm looking forward to Britney on X Factor. But only because you know it's going to have Xtina ramping up the cunt factor by a thousand percent on The Voice!

Completely bizarre choice in Demi Lovato; Britney's obviously the ratings-puller. Can't say I'd be tempted to watch any more than I wasn't last year.

I guess Demi could bring in teens but she seems too nice for something like this. I really like her though and hopefully it will help her career.

Britney must surely be one of the best choices they could have made, at least from a ratings stand point - who else could've brought in the viewers that she hopefully will? I'll try and watch as she could provide some truly great moments but it can be a chore when it's on for three hours per week (and also features LA Reid - does he even know who Demi is? Some of his comments last year..).

Good point about LA not knowing who Demi is! Remember when he thought Skyscraper was sung by a 40 year old or something like that!

Can't wait to see Brit and Demi on this!

They'll both be crap judges but at least Britney will be a ratings winner and Lovato will be the only likeable judge. All they're really interesting in is ratings so Lovato and Reid should have been bigger names. Reid has a great career track record but he's a clueless judge, thinking Lovato was some old bird being quite ironic!
