Building up a surprising amount of hype here (although it IS unexpectedly decent!), looks like it will easily qualify! God knows in place of who because there are a good 20 odd songs in Semi 1 that sound like easy finalists.

I don't know about my SF1 colleagues but I personally love 'Bassline'. It's only one of the two songs (three, including my entry) that I really want to qualify from my semi.

 

I wish I'd voted in Semi 2 though, as it's really stronger, especially with Mark Foster and Electric Guest with an AMAZING video which I re-watching over and over again.

Unsurprisingly, I wish you'd been able to vote in semi II also!

 

The semi draw really hasn't been kind to me this time, everyone who I had down as potentially liking Electric Guest is in the first semi.

I never really expected to qualify so I hope all this isn't giving me a false sense of hope! :(

 

'Bassline' is brilliant. And this is one of the things that makes this contest brilliant - I'd never have listened to it otherwise, as my brain had made the decision (based on nothing much) that Reverend & The Makers were not my thing at all.

 

 

Me too, always though they summed up the landfill part of indie music that came round in 2007, 'Heavyweight Champion' aside I thought they were pretty terrible, I was pretty shocked when I heard 'Bassline', think I'd downloaded it 3 weeks before I first listened to it!

I think it's after seeing a few negative comments about Porcelain in the Rye Rye thread in the Indie forum. I just don't think pop-rock like I've sent will go down very well.

Overall, that's a pretty good effort! Only 2 incorrect in 1st semi final (as one was only in top 15 on alphabetical order) and 2 incorrect in the 2nd semi final!

That is very good! Despite the said high quality, overall we did a great job predicting! :D
