Sober is still overrated as we stand today, still cannot see anything special about that track at all.

Euphoria's attention however is worthy, even if it's probably the most overhyped/rated track on this site EVER.

I agree that it's possibly been overhyped on this site (mainly/mostly thanks to myself :P) but I don't think anything's come quite as close to the mass adoration of 'Somebody That I Used to Know' :puke: 'Euphoria' has it's fair amount of "hatahs" but STIUTK only has me and one or two more in the chart forum (not meaning those who are now getting sick of it due to overplay) :(

What's with the 'Sober' hate? :( It's still a magnificent 10/10 (MHIRM is a little bit more overrated on here to me (7 or 8 out of 10 imo)) but 'Euphoria' definitely trumps it. The acoustic version of 'Sober' is just as incredible as the studio version.

Someone That I Used To Know needs to die NOW. It's utterly monstrous and horrifically overrated/played. I was exceedingly unamused to see that do so well in TBO.

IMPARTIAL ODDS indeed. Have you by any chance just taken a sudden liking to Mandy Capristo? :D

I haven't changed my opinion about the song since after the first listen, which happened like 10 days ago.

I'd personally say 'Euphoria' is more overhyped than 'Somebody That I Used To Know' - the latter might be universally liked, but it wasn't being hyped as some sort of BEST SONG EVER CREATED.

Like I've said a few times;

01 My Heart Is Refusing / 9.5/10

02 Sober / 9/10

03 Euphoria / 8/10

Anyway, onto BJSC - interesting odds from Pavel, I'm seeing another Top 5 for Zechonia, but I'd be surprised at a win although maybe it does have Adele-esque appeal. I think that benefitted from being by somebody known though to be honest. I have no idea who'll win this, but that's probably down to me not having heard Semi 1 yet LOL.

why won't you love me pavel

I won't go into proper odds JUST YET but my bet is on Purity Ring, Ronya, Reverend & The Makers and Meiko all fighting it out for the top.

I wasn't. :P

To be fair, if TBO was held a bit later then Somebody That I Used to Know would've definitely been #1 or #2 at the very least. Some people just mistake TBO for TBOUKC (The Best of UK Charts). :(

You gave Gotye 12 points in BJSC XXXVII so you should be thankful it did well in TBO. :o

Me voting for the song in BJSC37 had nothing to do with the UK release months later though! Without the UK release Gotye, as well as Azealia, would've never even qualified from the semifinals in TBO. So yeah I'm glad it did well but I think it didn't deserve a Top 3 placing.

You could possibly apply that to Lana Del Rey too. :o

Which means 'Riverside' was the biggest BJSC hit from TBO to not have any UK chart success.

Personally, I liked the tracks that did well in TBO regardless of the UK chart influence so I couldn't grumble at the results.

Lana won her contest by a landslide so I wouldn't say UK release mattered so much.

Hardly, there was barely anything in it between her and Frida Gold! Espen were very unlucky not to win, it'd have been a landslide winner any other month.

Oh. I guess not being in the final of that contest made me not care much about how many points the winning song scored. :D
