The Glee version was probably very close to making the top 150, combined they'd be easily top 10. Obviously it's a song we like rather a lot in this country.

And we're into the top forty!

40. Journey - Don't Stop Believin' (1981) (#6 in 2010)

The superpower that was Glee brought this '80s classic from its previous high of 62 into the top ten and just wouldn't go away.

Worst Katy Perry song! :( And I find Thinking of You (her worst selling), one of her best!

I adore Thinking Of You.

I'm being serious. Look at Lose Yourself. Almost every syllable in that song rhymes, but Shakespeare just rhymes the syllables at the end of every line. Oh sorry, he sometimes alternates them aswell.

Shakespear is a million times better than Eminem. I'm also a big Eminem fan, but Shakespeare is true brilliance.

Was Eminem writing in the 16th century though? "Stan" is a good time to bring this up actually, given it's the one word he's responsible for bringing into the dictionary. Shakespeare has dozens and dozens.

Hard to believe that as recently as 2008 this song had never gone top 40! Truth be told I didn't even know it before Glee...
I wonder will a flop from recently be a HUGE hit in 2025 like Journey is now?

Imagine if in 2025 Cousins by Vampire Weekend has sold over a million

I would  that.

I'm hoping it's "Tribute", personally.

I have issues with this- Journey sold 435k in 2010 and wasn't in the top 200 of 2011 thusly sold under 100k in that year- did it really sell about 300k between 2004-2009?

EDIT: Scrap that it sold 248k in 2009

Shakespeare might beat rappers in most aspects. Like a rapper probably couldn't invent good and engaging plots like Shakespeare can, but in terms of rhyming, most rappers beat him easily. If a mainstream rapper rhymed only a syllable at the end of every line, they'd be ridiculed.

I still consider "Rule the World" pointless given that with "Patience" they perfected the man band formula on their first attempt (sorry, Gooddelta!).

39. Take That - Rule the World (2007) (#2)

This single really cemented Take That's renewed success, losing out to Leona Lewis but sticking at #2 for four straight weeks.

38. Snow Patrol - Chasing Cars (2006) (#6)

Bre favourite 'Chasing Cars' never reached the top five but is still a regular top 100 entry thanks to numerous TV appearances.

Despite all I said before about this being a waste of time next to "Run", I do surprise myself with how much I like it every time it comes on.

I'd also put money on Bray liking it in years to come. His claims to hate it despite loving Coldplay remind me of how I used to hate "Welcome to the Black Parade" when I was his age despite "American Idiot" being my favourite album.

Stunning song, makes me very sentimental whenever I hear this - might be a bit overplayed but hasn't killed it at all for me.

The reasons for Bray liking it are quite personal, so the chances are, he probably won't come round to liking it :P

I'd think that's the most likely candidate if it were to happen at all.

Unless I develop Alzheimer's I will never enjoy listening to Chasing Cars - I dislike it more for the memories it brings back than the actual song, although I didn't like the song anyway.

"Chasing Cars" - still sounds brilliant after all this time.
