I think everyone's being a little pessimistic about Fun. getting the number 1 spot. They're track now has a 20% lead over The Wanted at number 2 as well as two other entries at 102 and 125 on the iTunes chart. The Wanted EP is now only at number 20 in the album charts, so is probably barely selling anything now and most fans would have gone and bought the physical already so I doubt the physical will make much difference now! The Wanted will only decrease from now onwards whereas Fun. will benefit hugely from the weekend effect and should be helped by it's other entries further down the iTunes chart.... Bring on Fun. at number 1 this week :D

Jackph89,I think you're a little bit too optimistic about Fun.

If No.1 will sell around 60k this week it's around 8.5 k per day, so if after 3 days the wanted had 10 k lead, fun. will have to sold 2.5 k per day more than TW. 6k ( 8.5k- 2.5k) \ 8.5 = 0.700, but the wanted have their ep, and cd's, so in last four days of the week wanted will have to have an average 0.650 to fall to no.2. With 0.650 average needed, with 0.85 in first day, in last 3 days wanted will have to have an average 0.58.

If fun. do miss #1 this week, is there anything that might stop them next week?

Not just might, but will. Gary Barlow's Jubilee song.

The week after that has DJ Fresh/Dizzee, Usher, Nelly & Aiden with Cheryl the week after that so this week really is the last chance for fun. As much as I like the song, I hope The Wanted hold on and 'We Are Young' becomes 'Moves Like Jagger'-esque.

Alexandra Burke

Seriously though, I'm hoping Fun can beat The Wanted as CTS isn't that great. GYC and ATL are much better imo.

Rudimental next week too, alot of songs out in the next two weeks should have be available weeks ago!!
fun. now have a 25% lead over The Wanted and second version up to 97. Carly Rae Jepsen only 11.25% behind the Wanted, I suspect she'll be back at number 2 by the end of the day!

fun. could get number 1 next week but only if Gary Barlow's Jubilee song under performs, and that unfortunately is very unlikely and will probably go over 100k first week, (which is good for the sales I guess...)
Tulisa  10

Gotye  11

That's unexpected - you'd expect Tulisa to fall away fairly rapidly after leaving the top 10 :o I expect Gotye could be in with a chance of re-entering the top 10 again by the end of the week anyway and since he was as high as #7 yestersy he should easily hold onto the official top 10 for an eighteenth week.

Strange how people keep leaving Rudimental out of the contenders for next week when their song is doing so well on pre-orders (it's now #15, could very well go top 10 before its release - the last song that did this well for this long on pre-orders was 'Louder' IIRC and that opened on 140k!)

Cheryl Cole is also doing very well on pre-orders, currently #21 and been hanging around a while - 'Call My Name' could be a big hit I think. The Barlow Jubilee thing is down to #40. Nelly F is #92, Lawson #94 - another one being missed off next week's new releases - and The Power is #179.

In terms of album pre-orders, ∆ are #86 (potential #2 behind Paloma next week?), Paloma #103 and #131, Rumer #161 (maybe #3 next week? :P) and The Beatles' 'Yellow Submarine Songtrack', finally getting a digital release on 4/6/12, is #173.

Great to see Tulisa back in the top 10! It's really everywhere. I went on holiday to Spain for a few days, and heard a bunch of British people blasting it out on the beach. Made me feel right at home ^_^
