Hmm, "Euphoria" is generic as hell but if it overtakes "We Are Young" I'll more than happily support it against the Gary Barlow track. Until then, fun. to stay at #1 please.

If only Gary Barlow wasn't releasing a cash cow tomorrow it would've been one of the most exciting #1 battles in ages.

It'll be "Whenever Whereever" all over again.

He's only hyped by the producers of the show. The public don't like to be told who to like, it never works (see also Misha B on X Factor).

Spoilery chatter:

In fact I was right! Jaz and Ruth both out. A victory for those who appreciate being in possession of their eardrums.

:D

It worked enough for him to top the public vote last time!

I'm glad people have seen SENSE this time anyway, Tyler is by far the best person left now.

Rudimental for #1 :P Up to #11 now. Alexandra up to #42, is she even going to go top 20 at this rate?

If Tyler wins, it will be one of the most unexpected turnarounds of chart fortune for many years! My sister bought and still owns all three of his singles (yes, even the dodgy cover of Your Woman!). I still maintain that he's a quite uncomfortable performer to watch live (as I have in the past) due to his constant staring at the ground.

Is it bad I got excited then thinking this was Brandy :(

His album is avaliable to itunes to download - the unlikely lad :)

So is Gary Barlow's track actually chart elligible? I'm unsure with this

Wow at Euphoria as high as 2! Running Scared didn't even chart top 75 this time last year, I guess that proves how great a winner this was :o

Lawson & Rudimental should both go top 5 then, and probably overtake Loreen when she inevitably starts to drop off. Alex heading for a bit of a flop, can't say I'm surprised at all, were people really predicting this to challenge for number 1?

oh and I've stopped watching the Voice. but YAY at Jaz & Ruth out! so immensely overrated (from what I saw of them anyway) I may tune in to see everyone's faces

Gary Barlow's track will be eligible; as to whether enough people will buy the track separately though to get it to #1 is another matter.

"Running Scared" charted at #61 officially last year, but yeah, not exactly massive...

I'd like to think that Loreen can get to #1, but if not, either Rudimental or Gary Barlow would be fine with me...

Will sales of the EP not count towards the singles chart then? It'll have decent physical sales and the digital EP will shift in huge quantities.

The video of Sing has actually only had 170k views on Youtube, could we be overestimating it? Or will people buy it for his version of Here Comes The Sun too...

I think had 'Satellite' actually been available to begin with it would easily have gone top 10 like Alexander did and like Loreen has now done - incidentally all 3 of them already had pretty big hype around them before the contest (Euphoria more than the others what with it already hitting the top 100 on UK iTunes after the semifinals) while I don't remember hearing anything about 'Running Scared' before the contest last year. It was just a bad winner. I had forgotten it even charted at #61.

Re: Sing, the EP has 6 different songs on it (7 in total as there's two versions of the title track). That, its price and the fact it's being released tomorrow makes me think the EP's sales will go to the albums chart, so for it to challenge for the singles #1 it'll need to sell a lot of cherrypicks of the title track which makes me think it might not be such a foregone conclusion after all. (Unless EP sales do go to the singles chart :P)

It's very clearly being marketed as an album though, so I think it would be ridiculous/unfair for the sales of the EP to count towards the singles chart. The EP/album itself is just called Gary Barlow & The Commonwealth Band, according to Wikipedia, not after the song.

Alexandra  #40

Oh dear. I can't say I'm surprised, though. Terrible song.

It's much better than 'Elephant', imo but neither are good enough to launch an album campaign. Both are pretty faceless and generic. Alexandra can do SO much better. The album will probably be a huge flop, which is a shame as Overcome almost went 3x Platinum.
