Get in Gary! Don't understand where this hate comes from..he is one of our most successful singer songwriters, sold 45 millions records with Take That, 8 number 1 albums, 13 number 1 singles and has broken so many tour and sales records i can't even begin to list.

On a week where we are celebrating Britain lets get behind one of our own, Id much rather have a song that was written with meaning, emotion and thought being it such as Sing rather than an American over produced autotuned ramble etc

Feeling very patriotic right now after watching that magnificent concert! Congrats to Gary on that as well!

I'd much rather have something actually DECENT, be it 'American over produced autotuned ramble etc' or not, than Sing, which is awful.

Gary also has another version at #44. :o

That's not another version. It's a different song.

Did someone really suggest 'Sing' would outsell 'Somebody That I Used To Know'? It's going to sell bugger all outside this one week (and the 32k it sold last week), I'd be very surprised if it even sells 400k overall. Might not even reach 300k.

I really cannot see Sing outselling Somebody That I Used To Know at all.

I don't think he was referring to sales wise, only the massive lead it has along with another version being so high at the same time.

Your opinion alone Bre. Judging by iTunes not many people would agree with you :cheer:

68. All Around the World (feat. Ludacris) - Justin Bieber

This IS going to knock Princess Of China out of the top 10 isn't it :manson:

You think the majority of people would prefer something awful over something decent at #1?!

That's actually pretty slow for Justin I think. It was #73 a while ago, but it is almost midnight I guess. I seem to remember Mistletoe "debuting" in the first update of the feed in the top 20 or top 30 or something ridiculous.

68. All Around the World (feat. Ludacris) - Justin Bieber

And more than rightly deserved so, I find the song highly addicting as it's not the usual Justin Bieber typed song at all tbh.

All Around the World is the song I was saying a couple of weeks ago that sounds like Till the World Ends, etc. But I heard the iTunes version is different to the leaked one.

On another note, I just listened to Nelly Furtado's B-Side. MARVELLOUS!

You think the majority of people would prefer something awful over something decent at #1?!

I think that the people would not call it awful and instead are enjoying it and the meaning surrounding it. Im sure the iTunes placements back me up there

You're making the mistake of thinking that iTunes popularity = a high proportion of people liking it. It'll sell less than 200k this week, so that makes still over 60 million people in the country who haven't bought it. When you're playing with such weird numbers there is zero way of telling that it's a more popular song than any of the others in the top 10.

There's nothing to support the fact there's a majority opinion that 'Sing' isn't awful. It's just had two very big promotional pushes seen by tens of millions of people. Only a very small amount of those people would have to be convinced to buy the song for it to be doing this well. If any more than a tiny handful of those people are still listening to 'Sing' regularly in a few weeks - or if it's even still anywhere in the chart in a few weeks - then maybe you're right, but I somehow doubt that.

Interesting to see Nelly Furtado's "Big Hoops" in the top 20, as it's completely bombed everywhere else (except Canada). But I like the song still, and its creative video. I hope it goes top 10.

There's also nothing to support the fact that the opinion that the majority find it awful. Out of the 60 million you're including children, unemployed, pensioners, no access to computers etc but i cant be bothered to go into that. Fact is Gary is doing fantastically and well done to him, fully deserved.

Now isn't exactly the best time to judge whether or not people like it anyway - I guarantee a lot of the buyers of 'Sing' are just caught up in the moment and the patriotism of the Jubilee and won't be listening to 'Sing' any more even in a week's time. Like I say, if it can prove itself to be a sustained hit that actually stays high in the chart following all the Jubilee hype then maybe you have a point, but at the moment it's selling in its tens of thousands because it's related to the Jubilee (and isn't it a charity single as well?) and if the exact same song was released without the Jubilee connection it'd be doing far worse.

(Still, congratulations and whatnot to Gary Barlow and co. for turning this into such a success anyway, they clearly must have done something right, unlike 'Teardrop' which ompletely bombed despite its charity connection and having a line-up far more appealing to downloaders than a bunch of unknowns and the Military Wives...)

Right There and I'm Into You.  Two of the best songs from that year imo.

Pitbull and Ne-Yo dominated so hard that summer. :drama: 12 weeks in the top 10! Let's Go and Back In Time aren't doing that well in comparison really.

Give Me Everything must be close to a million now. I wasn't even sure it would go top 40 when I first heard it!
