June 3, 201213 yr Also alex made me find this website! :o See people, can you really hate the person who brought JACK500 to our shores?!
June 3, 201213 yr I would gladly throw your computer in front of a train. (But anyway we're going OFF TOPIC, back to Andrea)
June 3, 201213 yr Oh dear: Ok.com, bringing JAck500 to BuzzJack, it's a pretty DAMNING list really and not too much of a leap to propose that her next foray would be ethnic cleansing.
June 3, 201213 yr Alex went on X-Factor as a judge. She got alot of criticism, and the "ok.com" thing became a thing for people to laugh at her about. She waits months and releases a song entitled 'Elephant' with autotune and a random DJ on board. Radio don't want to play her because she's seen as a joke from the XF stint and the song just wasn't that good. It then became the "cool" thing to hate Alexandra so more radio stations want to snub her. I'd imagine the "Jesus" type choreography when she performed 'The Silenc' on XF in 2010 didn't really help her case, nor the cheesy and cheap 'Start Without You' before that. She has the voice and the stage presence, can dance and is attractive but the material is REALLY letting her down. IF she wanted to go down the club route, she should have went for All Night Long part 2 or something.
June 3, 201213 yr Lack of radio play and poor single choices killed her career and also sh*t management!
June 3, 201213 yr I really dont know..I think it is the way she comes across as a person, the consensus seems to be she is just very irritating and just grates on you as a character. She just isnt a respectable artist in the industry, its going to have to take a huge change in order for her to turn things round for herself but not sure if thats possible which is a shame really.
June 4, 201213 yr lets just see how her album gets on. It's going to be a struggle for her to make number 1 with Gary Barlow not going to be easy to knock off but if she gets strong sales and releases a third single quickly she might be ok.com after all Edited June 4, 201213 yr by jay727
June 4, 201213 yr It seems like a combination of things. The okay.com appearance can't have helped, but I'd say it's mainly because the two new songs aren't stand out records. Combined with/resulting in the fact that she's getting limited radio play (though hasn't she always had a tough time with this, with Radio 1 mainly ignoring her?). Elephant was the problem for me. It wasn't a strong enough comeback record. And that has led to many not being that interested in the follow up (which seems, at least, a bit catchier). It's a shame as the first era was fantastic: Overcome is one of the best debut albums from X Factor alumni.
June 4, 201213 yr Poor Jack, people who he's like never even interacted with are slating him just because everyone else is, that's Buzzjack for you at times :drama: There are FAR worse people on this site. As for Alex, I think it's just the radio snub. The songs aren't awful or anything, they're just too generic so people aren't taking to them (I know it works for other artists but there you go), radio not playing her on top of that is making it worse. And with the lack of potential singles, it's not gonna get any better this era. Edited June 4, 201213 yr by Liаm

And with the lack of potential singles, it's not gonna get any better this era. If there are better tracks on the album, then it's all down to the record company making terrible decisions. A good lead single helps introduce a new era, followed by a brilliant second single to keep the momentum going. If the first single is average, and the second single is crap then it doesn't matter how great the album is, the single choices have already done the damage. I still think 'Let It Go' is a terrible choice of single. Even an artist like Rihanna would struggle to have a hit with this song.

It's not a bad album or anything, it's just there's nothing amazing at all. If I did a top 5, Elephant and Let It Go would both feature. There's only one song (Ooh La La) that has an OUNCE of potential and that would be a #27 SMASH at best I think. She just doesn't have the material this era.
June 4, 201213 yr I don't think Ok.com has got anything to do with how 'Let It Go' has charted, it is just purely the lack of airplay as Liam says above. 'Let It Go' is amazing in my opinion and even if radio stations don't think so, it's similar to 'Young' and 'Call My Name' which are getting plenty of airplay. It's just a shame that radios are snubbing her, I don't know what she can do to stop it! I just hope that Heartbreak On Hold can be some sort of success.
June 4, 201213 yr I think unfortunately the 'Okay.com' comment might have had an effect. For some reason everyone made a big deal of the comment and she received very bad press due to it and just her appearance on X Factor in general, and I do think it would be stupid to say that the bad press about her as a person and an artist didn't have some part in the way her career is going, with people finding her annoying and radio stations thinking that she isn't someone to be associated with. I think it is absolutely ridiculous quite frankly as she seems like a lovely girl in interviews and she is producing good (okay, maybe not groundbreaking) music that is still relevant to what is in the charts today. I think she is getting the Joss Stone treatment now unfortunately, which is sad as just like what happened to Joss, the British public prove that they don't really care about the talent levels of the people in their charts, instead they only care about their personalities not being deemed as 'annoying'.
