Not by me - I thought after her great debut album, she'd get a T5 place easily. :(

I was a big fan of her debut album, but everything I have heard of this album has been gravely disappointing. I certainly won't be buying, and I am amazed it's even that high. I was half expecting it to miss the top 75 entirely...

Also, Jessie J's 'Domino' has re-entered at #32 on the singles and The Script's 'Science & Faith' at #40 in the albums - can these be added to the update please :P

Added, blame Radio 1 :( why put an orange arrow pointing downwards I really don't know, they got David Guetta right.

Don't expect Friday's update to be on time, it could end up as a no show. Just expect it when you least expect it to.
So the Hives new album is doing nothing then?

It's actually #1, it's all a massive conspiracy.

Midweek Charts update: Barlow heading for 2012's biggest sales

Source: MW

11:16 | Friday June 8, 2012

By Paul Williams

Gary Barlow’s Diamond Jubilee track with the Commonwealth Band is poised to achieve the highest weekly sales for a single in the UK this year after taking just four days to reach six figures.

The Decca-issued Sing, penned by Barlow and Andrew Lloyd Webber, had reached 108,000 weekly sales by the end of business on Wednesday and rose to 122,000 the following day, according to the Official Charts Company. This puts it clearly on course to beat 2011’s biggest weekly total for a single so far, 127,998 achieved by Ministry of Sound release Hot Right Now by DJ Fresh featuring Rita Ora in February.

The high sales for Sing, which was a new entry at 11 on last Sunday’s chart, had by yesterday put it more than 75,000 units ahead of nearest challenger, Atlantic act Flo Rida’s newly-issued track Whistle. Atlantic/Fueled By Ramen’s Were Are Young by Fun featuring Janelle Monae is down 2-3 in the week to date, while RCA’s Usher is new at four with Scream as last Sunday’s number one, the Asylum/Black Butter-issued Feel The Love by Rudimental featuring John Newman, drops to five. Just behind it as a new entry in sixth position is Ministry of Sound track The Power by DJ Fresh featuring Dizzee Rascal.

The Gary Barlow and Commonwealth Band album, also called Sing, will spend a second week at the top of the artist albums countdown this Sunday having already achieved the highest sales for a number one in 13 weeks and with two days of trading still to go. Up until the end of Thursday it had sold 59,696 copies this week, the most for a number one since Columbia act Bruce Springsteen’s Wrecking Ball clocked up 74,401 during its entire first week in March to debut at number one.

Sales of Asylum/Atlantic act Ed Sheeran’s + have almost tripled following his performance at the Diamond Jubilee concert in front of Buckingham Palace on Monday, lifting it 13-2 on midweeks. RCA’s Paloma Faith album Fall To Grace drops 2-3 as the Reprise/Rhino Bee Gees best of Number Ones climbs 7-4 and Parlophone act Coldplay’s Mylo Xyloto rises 11-5 following the start of the band’s UK tour. Among a host of other acts benefitting from the Jubilee concert, Jessie J is enjoying a 117% lift in sales of her Island/Lava debut Who You Are to move it 20-6 on midweeks.

That's just incredible - Flo Rida has managed to jump from outside the top 40 on Wednesday to #2 officially in the space of 2 days. Great to see Usher pushed down to #4 behind Fun. too - I imagine he'll tumble another place with the weekend effect likely to be of more benefit to Rudimental.

Where's Alexandra today I wonder?

We don't have an album update just yet, only singles so far....

Oh OK. I'm going to guess #19.

For what it's worth, I pre-ordered the album from Zavvi (had a 10% off code) and they still hadn't despatched it yesterday due to problems finding a supplier? So I cancelled my order and will wait for the inevitable price drop!

Gary Barlow beating Rita Ora/DJ Fresh's first week sales was inevitable, but I guess they still have the record for biggest debut week sales of the year so far which will probably be beaten this Summer if Little Mix's new single becomes huge.

Usher likely to get another #4 hit, Scream isn't better than Climax so #2 wouldn't be deserved for it. Great to see Flo Rida already at #2, I think he could easily beat Cheryl to the top next week.

Ouch at DJ Fresh outside the top 5, I knew all along this wouldn't be as big as his previous singles but missing the top 5 completely is not good.

Aiden and Leanne still near the bottom of the chart, I do hope Leanne misses it as that will really p*ss Reggie off  I'm sure he'll find an excuse to talk about The Voice even if she isn't top 40.

 at that Lawson drop. Nice to see that Loreen has only dropped 10 places which isn't bad in comparison.

Coldplay top 10 on singles and top 5 on albums chart  Love!

So this may be the week where 21 falls out of top 10? What an unbelievable chart run it's had! It'll most probably be back at some point

I wonder where Alexandra is actually going to come in at...they must be really worrying right now.

Oh DEAR at Alex! Fantastic to see Kelly C re-enter the albums though
