Just seen on The Saturdays Facebook page that they have been chosen to be VEVO's First US Lift Artist of 2013! :cheer: That's going to be absolutely fantastic promo for them!

Basically, VEVO choose brand new artists every month and give them a lot of promotion. For example, when you watch a VEVO video on YouTube you usually get an advert just before the video. So there will be a Saturdays advert with either the What About Us video, or some sort of introduction video before lots of videos on VEVO while they are the Lift artist! (I think Lawson were the UK's VEVO Lift artist recently). There should also be banners around the video like you get when new videos are released as far as I understand!

 

Considering the amount of people that watch VEVO videos on YouTube, it's going to be fantastic promo I think! :D

I'm pleasantly surprised by how well they're being handled in the US! I know it's still early days, but it all seems positive at this stage. The Vevo Lift thing is quite a big deal!

They're now being tracked in the US Daily Airplay Updates thread! :D Only at 0.004 AI but it's sure to rocket up in the next few weeks.

 

And up to #1007 on iTunes! :o

despite focussing on NYC and LA - the girls are still getting a lot of google searches from the other states too from each seaboard in, although the great plaines states still arn't really searching.

 

their google searches have risen loads in the last 30 days too. (30 days to love ooooooh)

EDIT: It's nice... It's American... Erm, yeah. It's nice. It's a good enough video to launch them. I wish we saw more of the routine they were doing on the field. I just don't like how American it is... Strange considering I love the 'Higher' video (which is possibly the most American video they've done :lol:). I dunno I just think this lacks something.

I think it's a damn good video. :o

 

I hope by some miracle it does something for them over there.

1071. 'What About Us'

Absolutely loving this song, does anyone have a link?

I feel like this video could have been amazing but some of the editing and shots are really bad.

 

Why are they walking in slow motion during an uptempo song? And the lip syncing looks very weak. It looks like they're whispering the parts they're supposed to be belting. The shopping bit was a bit random and they should have got a camera shot of all five girls doing the dance at the end (instead of close ups and that dodgy angle from the GIF posted).

 

However the introduction was pretty good, the girls look amazing, the pool stuff was brilliant and the last minute was definitely worth the wait. Just minor annoyances, I guess.

 

EDIT - okay after watching it again I find it pretty much flawless. I do think it's a bit weird how Frankie is missing from the pool scenes and only Mollie/Rochelle/Una get screen time there, and how only Vanessa/Frankie have solo set-ups at the football ground, but I LOVE the shots of both of them them doing the "na na na" parts. Almost gives me goosebumps. It's amazing how Vanessa is just so normal in real life and yet on a music video (My Heart Takes Over and this) she oozes charisma, and while Frankie gets alot of criticism for being boring, her "na na na" shots ooze star quality.
