Speaking on Ayda's podcast, Robbie - who grew up in Stoke-on-Trent - was accused of being a penny pincher when his wife revealed he is unhappy when she burns candles. I'd say that's the difference between Beverly Hills and Stoke-on-Trent."

ROBBIE Williams banked £19.8 million in 2019 - despite quitting big bucks job The X Factor.

Updated financial statements in at Companies House reveal how much his firm You’re Not Famous bought in last year, with the former Take That singer making £54,000 a day from his live music shows.

You’re Not Famous is one of thirteen firms Robbie uses to manage his music empire.

The other Robbie companies comprise: The IGCC, Farrell Topco, RPW Holdings, Farrell Music, The In Good Company Co, RobbieWilliams.com, Little Youth, Intensive Care Management, RPW Productions and Leman Employment – a new firm set-up by him in July.

He does seem to have been talking about it for years.

I couldn't get into Upfront tonight - it kept asking me if I wanted to become a member.

No idea what that means - unless my subscription is up for renewal?

I'm looking forward to finally hearing the new Kylie collab. It has been teased for so long

Björn Ulvaeus praises Robbie Williams and Guy Chambers

ABBA's Björn Ulvaeus has praised Robbie Williams' and Guy Chambers' songwriting partnership.

Björn, 75, has been researching ways to ensure songwriters receive adequate compensation in the streaming era and he believes a partnership model - similar to Williams and Chambers - could be the solution.

Writing in The Guardian newspaper, he said: "Record labels could encourage a 'songwriter in residence' model, where artists are paired with songwriters at the development stage, as a long-term partnership: the writers would effectively become part of the band, paid a regular salary.

"It’s a radical solution, and it would require imagination to match up the right personalities, but it’s not unprecedented – think about Robbie Williams and Guy Chambers in the late 90s and early noughties, an artist and a professional songwriter working together to create a career – and it could create really interesting music as a result."

And Björn said the current system is "dysfunctional" for songwriters.

He explained: "We live in an era where the song fuels everything: whereas albums used to be the go-to consumption format, the dominant currency in streaming is individual songs; data shows that when people use a streaming platform such as Spotify, they search more for songs than they do for artists. That means songwriters are more important than ever – but, if you are a songwriter, the system is dysfunctional."

How true is this?

Years ago it was always about the album, the order of the songs, the artwork, the meaning of the album as an entirety from start to finish.

it is born from our fast moving times. People do not have the patience anymore to listen to an entire album. One of the reasons also tiktok is so successful. 15-30 second films, faster and faster. I am not a huge fan as the rest of life is already like that in many people's cases. And I am wondering where Rob will find his way in this surrounding and if he ever will.

Although I notice that digital photo printers are now offering actual physical albums so I think there could be a turnaround whereby people again appreciate physical copies of media - not just digital.

It's human nature to want to touch and collect stuff isn't it?

He does OK but he's 47 - he's old in today's world. It happens to everyone.

He can still do better than most and at his best - no one could touch him.

His forte is touring , he has no other choice , that is what happens to most artists as they get older & that is where the big money is. The fact he did the Vegas residency was an indication that he & his management had been looking at other markets & ideas going forward. I did not know about the digital photo printers, amazing that they can do these days. I also read that the money that comes from streaming is tiny & that an artist would have to have millions of downloads in order to make any money from it . I do not think Robbie has any worries unless large gatherings are banned for good then he & all of us have to worry :(
