I agree with the Band and that Gary may earn most, which is more than right. However as they market it as brand TT it is nicely earned money in an alternative way for all of them

I guess they all get something from it including Jason. They own the rights to the name.

Thanks to Evelyn on Upfront - these are the four Radio Rudebox's he did a few years ago.

Four is my favourite - it's a Britpop special. He played some great songs. I saved it to my Ipad.

Edit: except four is coming up "unavailable"

Forgot to say last night. I haven't heard it yet but I saw loads of comments that Harry styles' single is very "Robbiesque"

Thanks Laura, I will have listen next week, I am on the road morning , noon & night at the mo  so no chance to listen to anything

I always like the Britpop era , loads of good bands back then . As a matter of interest live music is hugely popular here these days, especially the city that I live in .

Would be good to get one more Rudebox Radio from Rob... they were great!

Yes they were although I would sooner have an Under The Radar Two. :D So I'm happy he's working on that. :cheer:

and even MORE Robbie's music in future

http://www.dailystar.co.uk/showbiz/goss/60...-Kendrick-Lamar

It was a real luck to become his fan one day! I don't know so many artists of his level who works so hard and so long.

For example Bono always says about tons of written songs for each new album and promises to fans to release a few albums per year... but in reality fans get only 1 album per 3-4 years )))

Who knows, maybe Robbie and his usually clever management will find a right strategy even for streaming era.

Maybe the fact of having the tons of music is interesting way how to use streaming and how to stay in business without big efforts (real promo, etc).

I read his 20 Years in Business book recently and there was an interesting point from Guy (or from ie:music, i don't remember) that in 90s/00s they tried to release 'something from Robbie' every Christmas. They felt it was a good tradition to bring something from 'Robbie Williams' in a same period. And they were right because it was a great tradition. You know, only 1 time they made a mistake with 'that; single. But they released something for 9 years in a row! It was fantastic. And definitely it was a high-class material.

So Robbie needs to have and find such 'traditions' for audience if he wants to remain succesful.

I've got this too and it's brilliant.

I was really lucky to have been given it for free by a friend because I know they were selling it for twenty quid or something somewhere.

In the old days of TRWS I typed out a lot of the Guy Chambers interview from that book because it was so good. It was pre their re-union if I remember rightly. Guy was talking about what a special artist Robbie was and how he had never been able to duplicate their chemistry with any other artist that he had worked with.

The whole book was a marvellous tribute to RW from others in the music business. Made me proud to be a fan. :)

I think the main thing that keeps RW going is - he is always looking to the future for new ideas. He's a restless artist who still is very ambitious and is trying to find ways to be successful past the normal lifespan of a pop star. He's creative and unique and in in a beige world, he's a character. He's also willing to fight for his place amongst artists half his age. He doesn't give up and I admire that in him.

in the hard core fan face book groups there is a lot of complaing about him. People somehow do not want to realize that he can be still successful but will not be the new Ed and Harry anymore. Those artist still have to proof if they will still be famous in 20 years, especiallin in times when tastes change so fast and anything is accible with a klick.

Rob is doing well. I would also like when he would sell Adele like. But without the US hook it had been impossible and will be impossible. Nevertheless being that big after 20 years is great and I think the same about TT too

What do they complain about elisabeth? His sales?

His sales, the vanishing fanbase, his promo and choice of songs, lack of new songs during the tour in favour to old songs. I think that most fans have fallen in love with him in TT or during the first years of his solo career when he walked from success to success. This is not what happens anymore. The business is changing fast, the heros either, new media, more music directions which people can decide to listen to.

Even the young stars last seldom more than some years.Few survive their own hype like Lady Gaga, but on a far less high level than 2011 for example.

It is difficult to accept that someone you love to be on top isn't anymore. For this fact Rob is doing still well. Next he might take a time out again and then I am sure this is wrong either when he will be back and may chart even less great than now.

How anyone can Complain about his promo is beyond me. He worked his arse off for the album. How could he have done more? His sales in the current climate were good by anyone's standards. 330k in UK and 300k abroad. Stadium tour? Add in the fact he's in the 27th year if his career and they were really good. His choices of songs live, yes I agree they could do with shaking up. Let's see what he decides for this tour. But if people choose to go and see him two/three/four times every tour they can't really complain about getting bored.

I have never and will never understand this need to criticise him constantly and write him off. He's just a man doing his job. You follow him or you don't. Simple as that. No other artist has kept my interest for twenty minutes let alone twenty years. That says it all for me. 😊

I agree Laura, I have never been a fan before of anyone. Ialways loved music but more in the way of 'this song is great' mostly I did not even know who sang it. But with Robbie it is the whole package, even when there are bits I do not understand or like he Always grabs my attention, as does his music
I love Robbies songwriting , he is a very good lyricist. I was travelling home from work this evening & was listening to Dave Fanning on RTE Radio 1 talking about Bob Dylan & he belatedly accepting the Nobel prize for literature & how difficult songwriting is & how Bob Dylan made it look so easy. It's not easy to keep coming with with new ideas for songs, Robbie has always been used to writing about his life experiences & as one gets older life gets quiter :P , just the way it is. I went to see a band heer in the city recently that have been around for yonks & they sang most of their well known songs & the fans all sang along with them , the band sang to the audience & the audience sang back, it eas a brilliant atmosphere , of course artist sing their best known songs as that is what people want at concerts. I think Robbie gets it right, he slips in snippets of new songs amongst the more familiar ones so i really do not understand the complaints. Laura is right , I think he overworked himself towards the end of 2016 with all that promo , why do they stick around as fans if they have had enough of him or do they just like to complain

I think anyone who "gets" Robbie Williams is always going to be more than just a fan of the music because he is such an interesting, contradictory character. In every way. His lyrics "speak "to me and I'm fascinated by him.

He's never claimed to be perfect or to be a role model. He's just selling his music. He lives his life by his rules and that's exactly why I'm a fan. I hope he never changes. I love him just the way he is.
