It won't. At least not with that video! Pretty boring video. I wouldn't be as harsh on it if we didn't have to wait 4 damned months for it! It's a nice "Introductory" sort of music video I guess, but 'Euphoria' deserved a proper music video :( I was thinking maybe something similar to Usher's 'Moving Mountains' video, at least. I dunno, I like it and want it to do well but the video was a little bit of a let down after that ridiculous wait for it
Nice to see Dappy falling.

Well that was short lived, wasn't it? Rat.

Not really it's a good achievement that he is set to go top 20 with this sort of song.

'I Can Only Imagine' #35  Really hope it can keep on climbing, I'd love this to be a 7th (!) top 10 hit from this album (incl. 'Sweat'). Without a re-release as well, so it's arguably more impressive than Katy and Jessie's large numbers of top 10 hits off 1 album.

Garry Sandhu up to #42, looks likely to briefly go top 40 on iTunes. I hope it can make the official top 100, it's not a genre we really see much of in the charts.

Ooh at the album version of 'Spectrum' going top 100 (now #95) - really hope the Calvin remix can make sure this returns them to the top 40 after three misses!

'Ik Gal' is up to #42... WHAT. IS. THIS? How is it so high?

It won't be around for long. Garry Sandhu was on another song that went top 100 for like 2 days before (I think the song was called 'Brick'). It's some bhangra thing. No idea why he's so vaguely-popular over all the oher 'some bhangra thing' artists but hey :P

This sort of music has always sold well in the UK. There have been reports about some Indian singles selling upwards of 25k a week during the 1980s. The only reason why they didn't chart is because they were never registered with the Chart Company, which is why we have the odd situation of the first Bhangra song in the top 40 not charting until 2003 with Panjabi MC (and even that was a super-commercial version of the genre). It is only now with the democratisation of music through the iTunes chart that we are fully seeing how popular they are outside of their regular audience.

I sort of agree. :(

I personally would've made the video look like a more polished looking version of the Eurovision performance - same camera angles and all. Especially from Melodifestivalen at the end of the second chorus with the grabbing of the air with the "up-up-up-up-upp" then close up as Loreen falls to the ground as the big drum echos off and the snow starts to fall over the "we're higher, we're reaching for divinity" bit.

In fact, I actually prefer that very live performance more as a music video that's been played on all the UK music channels. It's brilliantly choreographed, some stunning camera shots and everything just works. Still in loon mode clearly!!! :D

This new official video is ok but there's a distinct lack of Loreen singing anything. It looks like an extended teaser rather than an actual video but what to do.

Definitely. I do hope it reignites interest in the song, obviously. But I'm seriously not holding much hope for it. Your idea is perfect for the video. What took them so long? I liked the weather changing, but couldn't they have just added that in with your concept? I was imagining her performing the whole routine on top of a mountain! Not pushing grass out the way in a very artistic manner

Do you think that might still be the case (to a lesser extent of course)? Like it's possible there could be download sites which specifically sell that sort of music, but aren't registered with the OCC or something? Or maybe they sell the music too cheap to be eligible to chart.

I have some friends that listen to that type of music a lot, and I asked them where they get it from, and they said they just illegally download it. :drama: So that doesn't help.

I found an asian download chart here on the BBC's website: http://www.bbc.co.uk/asiannetwork/chart/downloads/ 7 new entries in the top 10! :o And here we are with 2 new entries in the entire top 40 this week in the overall chart. :drama:

The song at #29 in that chart sounds exactly like Turn Me On by Kevin Lyttle.

The live vid of Euphoria was played all over the music channels, so don't expect the official vid to really do anything

Someone Like You was in a similar situation, and got a bit of a boost when the music video came out (despite having already sold 900,000 or whatever by that point ).

Next week at least we should get new entires from Florence + The Machine, Adam Lambert and David Guetta.

Lets Gold is on ITV for the next three nights so it would be intresting to see if songs get a boost tbh, each show will no doubt have around 6m+ viewers.

Songs Currently been Used

Beyonce - Run The World (Girls)

Calvin Harris & Ne-Yo - Lets Go

Florence & The Machine - Rabbit Heart

Calvin Harris & Kelis - Bounce

Dj Fresh & Sian Evans - Louder

Nicki Minaj - Starships

I wonder if Adam Lambert could actually take advantage of the fact it's a dead period for new releases and get a high top 20 hit (at least) with 'Never Close Our Eyes'. Should be interesting to see.
I thought for some reason that Adam already released his album here and it just flopped, so NCOE was also released and flopping - really hope it can at least outpeak 'For Your Entertainment', I actually really like it
I like NCOE, but I don't quite love it. I definitely prefer 'Better Than I Know Myself' (I'm alone in this it seems though) and 'Whataya Want From Me'.

Not likely, unless they are currently in the top 75. I think the only track that might benefit is Calvin Harris & Ne-Yo

I LOVE Whataya Want From Me. What an epic song! I love Pink's version aswell. I wish it went top 40. :(
