Haven't checked the US iTunes chart in a while - surprised to see Ellie's Lights at the bottom of the Top 40 already, considering it's still #1 on airplay.

Yeah it's quite a ridiculous situation really, but then it was well out of the top 10 on iTunes by the time it went #1 on radio so it's kind of expected. It hasn't done as well on iTunes as I'd have hoped but oh well, clearing 3 million downloads is nothing to be ashamed of!

 

Taylor overtook PSY again recently but he's clawed it back and is #1 again :D

 

And in more random news, Anything Could Happen is up to #267. Considering that's not going for radio adds until October 2nd, I think it's performed fairly strongly on iTunes. I'm kinda hopeful it can be another Hot 100 hit for Ellie now but I don't want to count my chickens!

There's a fake version of 'Finally Found You' at #565, it still isn't released until next week so it'll be interesting to see how it performs with airplay building up very nicely and a held back release in the US for once.

The thing is, Lights spending SO long in the lower region of iTunes makes it look like it hasn't done as well as it really has. It was already sold a million by the time it really started to take off. Its success is amazing though, especially for a song that I considered to be a flop once upon a time! :lol:

I thought as much...another music board has basically said these next two weeks for Olly are the last chance to make 'Heart Skips a Beat' happen, if nothing changes then basically 'Troublemaker' is his last chance in America, for want of a better word. Here's an idea Columbia - stop throwing poxy rent-a-rappers at his songs and ruining them!
