Ne-Yo is due a #1 this year, he gets one every even numbered year (he also had Give Me Everything last year which was odd-numbered of course, but that was only a feature). I think 'Let Me Love You (Until You Learn To Love Yourself)' should get there.

(And in the process be one of the longest titles for a #1 in ages - the same number (41) of non-space characters as 'I Wish I Was A Punk Rocker (With Flowers In My Hair)' but a couple fewer characters including spaces :magic:)

Oh no! Bray's be searching for random patterns again! Very interesting though! :kink:

Ne-Yo's new song reminds me of One Shot by JLS. Starts off as a piano ballad, and then those DJ Sammy-style synths come in.

What! I HATE Loca People, I was saying that I remembered that you don't need a fanbase or a good song to get to number 1.

I sincerely apologise, I don't know what came over me. One should never assume an iLoon is being anything other than 100% serious.

If GaGa really does have a new single next month, I don't think it'll go to #1. "Born This Way" didn't and that had a massive amount of hype. Amelia Lily, Fazer, Ne-Yo and Pink should all go top five but not #1.

She said mid-August will be her first single from the new album. It's also apparently a dance song for those who heard it last night. Born This Way wasn't as commercial and therefore didn't have the same appeal.

This next single will probably give her another #1 if its the same standards as Poker Face and Bad Romance.

Born This Way would have flown to #1 had it been released any earlier than Friday, if this one's released a bit more sensibly it should make the top even with the reduced hype.

I don't see why Gaga couldn't get a #1, BTW could pretty easily have done it with even just two or three days earlier release, and TEOG might have done it too with even just a week or two of airplay before release.

Since the subject of future No.1's has been popping up quite a bit lately, i might as well put forward some predictions

July 22 - Florence

July 29 - Wiley

Aug 5 - Wiley

Aug 12 - Rita Ora

Aug 19 - Rita Ora

Aug 26 - Owl City

Sept 2 - Ne-Yo

Sept 9 - Owl City

I'd rather it went Calvin then Wiley in those two weeks, Calvin needs a #1 as a main artist for this era! ^_^

And WBCBFY is x23732181 times better!

"Heatwave" is terrible, Calvin's getting quite good at this generic lark so I'd rather he took the #1.
For me, I LOVED Bounce, I liked Feel So Close and was 'meh' at Let's Go. Not sure what to make of We'll Be Coming Back yet but it's definitely not as good as Bounce!

I agree with this! I really loved Bounce, I liked Feels So Close and Let's Go was alright. I really don't like this new one though, for me it's the worst of the era although I'm not a fan of Example so that probably contributed, but either way I just don't like We'll Be Coming Back. Shame it feels like a sure-fire number 1. I'm not a fan of Wiley's new one much either but I prefer it out of the both of them.

I've just listened to Owl City's new song, and it will be the worst number one of the year, if not ever, if it gets to number one! It sounds like a Same Difference reject song, and what on Earth has happened to Adam Young? Doesn't look anything like the man in Fireflies!

I agree, it does seem like a rather desperate attempt to get a hit, although it is very infectious. Its a surefire number 1/big seller though when it gets released.

I reckon Wiley & Calvin Harris will storm it next week, but I can see Wiley being number 1 easily - having heard both songs, I actually prefer Calvin's, but it just seems like his destiny to keep getting number 2's as a lead artist :P

I agree Owl City's new song is poor. I think it's very boring. From some of his other songs I've heard, like Fireflies, Umbrella Beach, Alligator Sky, etc, he has his own unique touch and style on his songs, but I don't feel that about his sone with Carly at all.

Wiley and Calvin Harris should do a song together one day (although maybe it's not needed, since Good Times already exists ).

Where is Marina's new single currently languishing? As much as it was a daft single choice, I think it deserves at least top 40 still. :( Shame.

#282. :( The EP is at #275 which is ... something, I guess. Might scrape top 200 on Sunday.

Karmin  #04

Gaga's new single is more than likely getting a latter end of August release, and she never said mid-August because she's literally not said a word about when we'll be getting it. It's all speculation at this point.
