50 37 Nicola Roberts - Lucky Day

38 114 Nicola Roberts - Beat Of My Drum

37 125 Coldplay - Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall

36 126 Britney Spears - Hold It Against Me

'I Wanna Go', 'Shuffle' and 'Hello' are the only songs in this lower top 15 that go out after qualifying through the playoff - obviously 2011 works differently as it uses the top 35 songs of the year based on the multichart rather than the top 35 of the previous ROTD, so there's some very regrettable former music taste here clearly, most evident with the BIZARRE qualifier from Nicola Roberts, which unsurprisingly finishes last. Nicola's other entry also fails to qualify for next year's round.

35 128 Ke$ha - Blow

34 130 Bon Iver - Holocene

33 133 Olly Murs feat. Rizzle Kicks - Heart Skips A Beat

32 134 LMFAO feat. Lauren Bennett and GoonRock - Party Rock Anthem

25 158 The Naked And Famous - Young Blood

24 161 Drake feat. Rihanna - Take Care

23 163 Maroon 5 feat. Christina Aguilera - Moves Like Jagger

22 185 Lady Gaga - Born This Way

21 187 Example - Changed The Way You Kiss Me

20 190 Kanye West - All Of The Lights

19 192 Katy Perry feat. Kanye West - E.T.

18 193 The Saturdays - All Fired Up

17 194 Calvin Harris - Feel So Close

16 197 Britney Spears - Till The World Ends

15 213 Adele - Set Fire To The Rain

14 213 Emeli Sandé - Heaven

13 225 Nicki Minaj - Super Bass

12 226 Marina & The Diamonds - Radioactive

11 229 Labrinth feat. Tinie Tempah - Earthquake

The rest of the playoff qualifiers are all in the 11-35 section though, so BuzzJack are still sticking to their taste of old for the top 10! The highest qualifier from the playoff is 'Earthquake' which finishes one agonising place from the top 10. Perhaps surprisingly one of Adele's tracks fails to make the top 10, with 'Set Fire To The Rain' coming 15th - her other two comfortably qualify though. Some indie love sees Bon Iver's 'Holocene' - the only song on the list that missed the UK top 100 - just about scrape through as an autoqualifier for next year.

10 237 Jennifer Lopez feat. Pitbull - On The Floor

9 239 Lady Gaga - The Edge Of Glory

8 247 Coldplay - Paradise

7 249 Foster The People - Pumped Up Kicks

6 264 M83 - Midnight City

5 269 Lana Del Rey - Video Games

4 301 Adele - Someone Like You

Quite shockingly (to me anyway), Jennifer Lopez and Pitbull only just get into the playoff qualification zone. Lady Gaga also does poorly for her status and takes only one song, 'The Edge Of Glory', to the playoff (though 2 of her other 3 are also autoqualifiers next year, only 'Judas' predictably missing out). Coldplay, Foster The People and M83 represent the male contingent of the qualifiers, M83 inexplicably clearly being the frontrunner of the indie faves in sixth. Also somewhat indie but female is Lana Del Rey in fifth, while Adele's second highest entry is the biggest song of the year and the second biggest of the decade, 'Someone Like You' still coming fourth despite its overplay.

3 307 Adele - Rolling In The Deep

2 319 Rihanna feat. Calvin Harris - We Found Love

1 345 Florence + The Machine - Shake It Out

Adele does manage to drag one song into the top 3 and it's the first single off her blockbuster '21' album, 'Rolling In The Deep' beating its bigger cousin by six points to go straight to the final. Rihanna and Calvin Harris, who I expected to walk the contest along with JLo and Pit, still finish a respectable second but the winner - and a bloody fantastic one if I do say so myself - is the gorgeous 'Shake It Out' by Florence + The Machine! I fully expect 'Spectrum' to contend for similar success the next time Record of the Decade comes around for the 2012 round.

Excellent top 10! Definitely wouldn't have expected 'Shake It Out' to be the winner, I thought 'We Found Love' had it in the bag here, but a pleasant surprise. 'On The Floor' is the weak link of the top 10 for me, but even then, I'm quite the fan.

Results get somewhat less pleasing lower down. I suppose 'Party Rock Anthem' and 'Moves Like Jagger' were some of the biggest songs of the year, but they're still terrible. Equally I have no time for 'Till The World Ends', especially when the superior 'Hold It Against Me' failed to qualify.

Particularly disappointed at the poor showing for 'Hello' and the two Nicola Roberts tracks. I wouldn't even consider them bizarre qualifiers, from what I remember both received a lot of hype on the site even if this didn't translate into good sales. 'Notorious' and 'Best Thing I Ever Had' failing to qualify is also unfortunate. Though the blow is softened somewhat by the equally poor showings of 'Price Tag' and 'Judas'.

YES  Shocked Shake It Out won but SOOOO happy!

Shame Marina didn't finish top 10 and the overrated Midnight City did, but overall great results!

Oh but JUDAS SO LOW?!? Smh.

Reasonably pleased with those results, not a fan of Shake It Out at ALL but it's nice to see someone a bit different win, and M83 and Foster The People qualifying is pleasing.

Disappointing to see 'Shuffle' go out but that and 'Holocene' were the two who only just qualified, and both from relatively few voters, just big scores, some which haven't voted this time around.

Shake It Out - excellent winner :D

That's some brilliant scores for M83 and Foster the People as well. Unfortunately I never thought Shuffle had any real chance of getting through, i'm just glad it didn't finish last!

Amazing to see LMFAO finish top 35  Next time Avicii's Levels NEEDS to get through to this stage of the competition :( Would have liked to see Rihanna win but Florence isn't too bad. Also pleased to see On The Floor and Midnight City get through, I did question M83's appearance in this round as it peaked in 2012 but they are welcome through anyway! Not happy about Earthquake missing out by so little, but I'm pleased that Buzzjack have enough taste to get it as high as it got!
