No surprise that Plan B is where he is but sales wise he is unlikely to break 50k. He always said that he didn't expect his follow up album to Strickland Banks to sell more than 100k and I reckon he might have hit the nail on the head, even though im sure it was a tactical PR statement at the time. Still, his second number 1 album and another top 10 single from it is fantastic for him

70% ahead suggests that Gaslight are on 13k by now which seems rather optimistic. Brilliant if true though, should easily secure them the #2 spot on Sunday.
This is Music Week, they could easily mean that it's sold 70% less, putting it on around 7k.

That sounds more likely. If that gives them over 10k that should still be enough for top 3.

We have mids, the top 4 albums are all new entries Jlo and Joss swap places. Who on earth is buying the jlo album, pointless release.

How so? We just had a thread about artists who haven't released a GH album before, and AFAIK J-Lo hasn't...?

Midweek Charts update: Florence heading for third week at No 1

Source: MW

by Paul Willams

Florence + The Machine's Spectrum is on course to become only the third single this year to spend more than two weeks at No 1 as it continues to hold off Maroon 5's Payphone.

The Island track had reached 46,000 sales by the end of business on Thursday, according to the Official Charts Company, around 10,000 copies ahead of Interscope/Polydor's Payphone featuring Wiz Khalifa in second place. Virgin act Conor Maynard's second single Vegas Girl is registering as a new entry at three with Warner Bros act Stooshe's Black Heart climbing 5-4 and the Atlantic track Whistle by Flo Rida rising 6-5. The RCA-handled Brokenhearted by Karmin is new at 9.

On albums the EMI TV/UMTV compilation Now! 82 is rapidly heading towards 200,000 sales in its first week of release, hitting the 188,000 mark by the end of Thursday, while 679/Atlantic's Plan B is set for an instant No 1 on the artist albums listings with the soundtrack to Ill Manors. Three other brand new albums are immediately below it: Mercury act Gaslight Anthem's Handwritten in second place, the RCA retrospective Dance Again - The Hits by Jennifer Lopez at 3 and Joss Stone's Warner Bros debut The Soul Aessions - Vol 2 at 4. A&M/Octone/Polydor's Maroon 5 complete the top five sellers with Overexposed falling 2-5 at this stage of the week, while Elton John and Pnau's Mercury pairing Good Morning To The Night now looks like retaining its Top 10 status on this coming Sunday's final chart, having dropped 1-12 on midweek listings earlier this week. It is currently the eighth biggest artist album of the week.

Jlo RISING? Didn't see that coming. Would be brilliant if she could remain top 3.

But some of those tracks are from her last remix album

But that sold sod-all, so wouldn't take too many sales from this, surely?

It seems Florence is comfortably in the lead with 10k ahead of Maroon 5, probably looking at 51k to 55k for the week.

Why are Karmin so low in the midweeks compared to iTunes?

NOW 82 effect, when all the tracks are combined Karmin will appear lower.

It's done 46k already, why would it only sell another 5-7k in the last two days? I think it'll do around the same as in its first two weeks, 60-65k. Great sales stability for it so far.

Ah, Elton & Pnau up 4 from Wednesday, should stay top 10 then hopefully. We could do without another 1-11+ drop.

oops... that 3 should be a 5, typo. -_- I read 46k as 43k :(

oops... that 3 should be a 5, typo. -_-

That only increases the range to 5-9k. They'll do way more than that.

No 1 single should do 65-70k this week, perhaps a sales increase? Now should shift 220k (how much did last summers do incidently??) and plan b will do 40k!!
NOW 82 effect, when all the tracks are combined Karmin will appear lower.

Plus Brokenhearted reached the top 10 only Tuesday or Wednesday (?), so quite late but since then it has climbed rapidly.

F+TM will do another 65K +/-... wow, very very very respectable in their 3rd week, more than 200K already!
Its because most commercial radio dont reallt heavily play florence as they look at her as an indie albums act so once it got to no1 she recieved a bigger audience!
