July 25, 201214 yr It was here today gone tomorrow though this one will sit in the minds of the public overall!! That was only because it was held back. If it was released straight away it would've been in the charts for a lot longer, and sold more. If I were a new artist I'd be very pleased with Love Me's success. Maybe they just set very high expectations for themselves.

Yeah of course, although it was more of an urban song that appeals to a younger audience whereas Black Heart is loved by loads of people and even after a held back release is still selling 50k a week!
July 25, 201214 yr I don't think anyone expected Florence to spend three weeks at #1 with this song. It's becoming her "Wuthering Heights". :D
July 25, 201214 yr Author I don't think anyone expected Florence to spend three weeks at #1 with this song. It's becoming her "Wuthering Heights". :D I only expected the track to peak at #1 for a week, 3 weeks is good going. Anyhow time to post up the Weds update in here :D
July 25, 201214 yr Author Midweek Charts: Plan B no match for dominant Now! 82 Source: MW by Paul Williams Plan B is heading for his second UK artist albums chart-topper, but he is being comprehensively outsold by the latest Now! compilation, which is outperforming the top 30 artist titles combined. The 679/Atlantic set Ill Manors heads a top four in the artist albums market which at this stage of the week is exclusively made up of brand new releases with Gaslight Anthem second, Joss Stone third and Jennifer Lopez fourth, according o the Official Charts Company. However, the big sales news of the week belongs to EMI TV/UMTV's newly-issued Now! 82, which had already reached around 115,000 sales up to the end of trading on Tuesday, more than five times as many copies as Plan B's album shifted over the same period. In the artist album rankings the Plan B set currently has a sales lead of around 70% over second-placed Handwritten by Mercury's Gaslight Anthem. The album is on course to become the New Jersey act's highest-peaking release yet in the UK, easily beating the number 18 peak achieved by their last album American Slang in 2010. Joss Stone, meanwhile, should register in the UK Top 10 for the first time since her 2004 chart-topper Mind, Body & Soul with her Warner Bros debut The Soul Sessions - Vol 2 currently showing up as a new entry at three. The first Soul Sessions album reached numebr four in 2004, while her last album LP1 charted and peaked at 36 last year. Jennifer Lopez completest the all-new top four with her RCA-handled retrospective Dance Again - The Hits currently in fourth position, two positions higher than her last studio set, Love?, reached last year. As a consequence of the new albums registering so high, a number of last week's big hitters have made steep falls in this new chart week. They include the Mercury-issued Elton John Vs Pnau album Good Morning To The Night which debuted at one last Sunday but is now only the 12th best seller and Sony's Paul Simon re-issue Graceland dropping 4-13. Only one album in last Sunday's Top 10 is showing a sales increase: the discounted Talk That Talk by Def Jam/Mercury's Rihanna with its tally up 21% week-on-week as it holds at six in the midweeks. Ahead of it, A&M/Octone/Polydor's Maroon 5 drop 2-5 with Overexposed, while Ed Sheeran's Asylum/Atlantic album + falls 5-7 and Frank Ocean's Def Jam/Mercury set Channel Orange slips 3-8 in the week so far. Meanwhile, sales of Hans Zimmer's soundtrack to The Dark Knight Rises are up 77% as the Sony Classical album moves 36-9 in the rankings. Columbia act Train complete the Top 10 with California 37 dropping 9-10. Roadrunner act Slipknot register as a new entry at 16 with Antennas To Hell in the latest midweeks, while Atlantic act Rumer's Boys Don't Cry is responding to TV advertising with its sales lifting 54% to move 42-22. And in the week of the Olympics opening Chariots Of Fire composer Vangelis is new at 39 with the Rhino-issued The Collection. On singles Island's Florence + The Machine is bidding for a third week at number one with Spectrum currently around 5,000 sales ahead of its closest challenger, Payphone by Maroon 5 featuring Wiz Khalifa. Parlophone act Conor Maynard's newly-issued second single Vegas Girl is new at three as Stooshe's Warner Bros-issued Black Heart progresses 5-4 and Atlantic act Flo Rida gains a notch to five with Whistle. Heading downwards at this stage of the week is Chris Brown whose RCA single Don't Wake Me Up falls 3-6, while Interscpe/Polydor's This Is Love by will.i.am featuring Eva Simons slips 4-7 and Asylum/Black Better's Rudimental featuring John Newman with This Is Love goes down 7-8. Also dropping a place to nine is the Parlophone track Princess Of China by Coldplay & Rihanna, while former chart-topper We Are Young by Atlantic/Fueled By Ramen's Fun featuring Janelle Monae is bidding for a Top 10 return, moving on the current Sales Flashes 12-10. RCA's US pop duo Karmin are set for their first UK hit with Brokenhearted showing up as a new entry at 11 in the week to date, while other new arrivals come from Miami-based French DJ Cedric Gervais with his 3 Beat/AATW set Molly and French electronic producer Madeon with his Popcultur/Columbia-issued Finale. They appear as new entries at 26 and 28 respectively in the week so far. =================================================== Wednesday Update Top 40 Only Source: Radio 1/OCC Top 40 Singles 1 Florence + The Machine (5k ahead) 2 Maroon 5 3 Conor Maynard* 4 StooShe 5 Flo Rida 6-10 10 fun./Janelle Monae 11-20 11 Karmin* 19 Far*East Movement/Cover Drive 20 Nicki Minaj [starships] 21-30 26 Cedric Gervais* 28 Madeon* 29 Public Enemy* 31-40 37 Azealia Banks 39 Clement Marfo & The Frontline* http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio1/chart/update/singles/print http://www.officialcharts.com/chart-news/c...-maroon-5-1505/ =================================================== Top 40 Albums 1 Plan B* (23k) 2 Gaslight Anthem* 3 Joss Stone* 4 Jennifer Lopez* 5 Maroon 5 6-10 9 Hans Zimmer 11-20 16 Slipknot* 21-30 21 Rumer 22 David Guetta 31-40 32 Florence + The Machine 38 Vangelis* 39 Passion Pit* http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio1/chart/update/albums/print http://www.officialcharts.com/chart-news/p...ning-week-1504/ * New Entries
July 25, 201214 yr Wonder if Both of Us is top 15? I expect madeon to fall, Clemente Marfo to rise and Cedric Gervais to remain the same come the weekend!! This Karim song is pretty boring!!
July 25, 201214 yr Another week at #1 for Florence + the Machine, I reckon her sales will be lower than 60k this time, unless it can surprise us again and only drop 1000 copies. Hopefully Karmin will enter the Top 10, although with many songs having boosts from Now 82, it will be hard to do. :( 4 new entries in the Top 5, hopefully means higher sales than what we've been getting already - Plan B on 20k is good, somewhere between 30k-45k come Sunday? Rihanna at number 6, so I guess it wasn't number 3 yesterday. Didn't expect to see the Batman soundtrack jump into the Top 10! Not good to see yet another massive tumble from number one! At least I think Plan B will stay Top 5 next week. Great to see Rumer at #21 - has she performed somewhere or is a new single getting airplay? Newton Faulkner, Chris Brown and Linkin Park continuing to fall, really not a good year for number one albums!
July 25, 201214 yr Author Great to see Rumer at #21 - has she performed somewhere or is a new single getting airplay? while Atlantic act Rumer's Boys Don't Cry is responding to TV advertising with its sales lifting 54% to move 42-22. Her chart position is wrong on the mid report
July 25, 201214 yr Her chart position is wrong on the mid report Sorry, I only scan the reports for sales. Would help if I read them properly! :P
July 25, 201214 yr Not very good for Slipknot and Passion Pit, thought top 10 for both. J.Lo will probably drop quite a lot. Shame about Elton vs Pnau, what a fabulous album but good it reached #1 in the first place - that was unexpected.
July 25, 201214 yr Black Heart, Whistle, We Are Young, Starships and 212 climbing (possibly) because of Now! 82 so far then. There'll probably be more by Sunday. Good to see Madeon in the top 30, he should be comfortably top 40 on Sunday then. Clement Marfo & The Frontline should also hang onto the top 40 being there in the mids and now #36 on iTunes. Plan B's album has sold a maximum of 23k then (and probably a minimum of 19.2k or else the report would say Now! 82 has sold more than six times what he's sold), that's not too bad. Probably on for 35-40k. Joss Stone and Jennifer Lopez are extremely random top 5 albums, I'm sure both will fall behind at least Maroon 5 (who will remain the highest non-new album on reduced sales as per, 5 weeks top 3 and only selling a bit over 90k in that time maybe?) but still, Joss' last album only peaked at #36 and even that was a big improvement from the #75 of her previous album and after 'Dance Again' bombed I thought there'd be precisely zero interest in the JLo GH. I think pretty much everyone agrees it has an awful tracklisting too. Huge climb for Hans Zimmer, was it download-only last week? Ouch at Passion Pit being only #39, shocked at how badly they're flopping (similar to Metric a few weeks ago)! Elton & Pnau already down to #12 - Newton was #6 at this point last week and ended up #11, 'Good Morning To The Night' should definitely beat Marina's 1-13 drop unless it gets a boost in the latter half of the week! July 25, 201214 yr Awful sales in albums. Joss Stone gets to #3 but Alexandra Burke limped to #18. Sort it out people. J-Lo #4. :) Got tickets last night to see her in Manchester.
July 25, 201214 yr Even in this low sale climate I'm amazed to see Jlo is #4!! :) Brilliant. Will drop like a rock though.
July 25, 201214 yr THRILLED to see Joss at #3 in the albums. I never thought this day would ever happen again after 'Colour Me Free' peaking at #75. I know the sales are horrific, but I don't care, Joss could have another top 5 album! Edited July 25, 201214 yr by Davidson
