I touched many of Alice's body parts and everytime she crowd surfed I got pushed under. Lewis saved me once I think, what a babe. <3

i can't even. touched the bitch TWICE, was just incredible from start2finish and met the very charming harve (i apparently saved him from falling but he saved both me AND my friend multiple times!!! thank the lawd!). ugh just generally still fangirling. IT WAS EVERYTHING

I have only listened to this properly in the last couple of days and it's absolutely fabulous.

 

Is it just me or does it sound more witchy than their other albums?

Okay this will probably appall everyone but I've never really dug this lot before, but I've had 'Plague' on my playlist for ages and I'm slowly becoming obsessed with it. Do I: a, listen to 'III' first, or b, start at the beginning with 'Crystal Castles'?

HMMMMM.

 

'crystal castles' is very 8-bit so it might not appeal if you're working backwards, the whole novelty of their progression is that they make different albums without really losing their sound but it only works in linear fashion i think - would definitely DEFINITELY check out 'crystal castles II' then '(III)' though because they're just amaaazing whereas you could argue that 'CCI' has aged~

i do love love love them all - all 3 probs in my top 10 albums of all-time

(III) is definitely a lot weaker than the sublime previous two for me (still really good tho) and they don't seem as big now as they did a few years ago, eek.

Definitely start with II and then move on to the first one last yeee. (III) i also find to be their weakest and there are moments in their debut that will never be beaten for me but II is the strongest. definitely.

I am leaving Crystal Castles.

My art and my self-expression in any form has always been an attempt towards sincerity, honesty, and empathy for others.

For a multitude of reasons both professional and personal I no longer feel that this is possible within CC.

Although this is the end of the band, I hope my fans will embrace me as a solo artist in the same way they have embraced Crystal Castles.

Would've loved at least one more album! The three we have are so perfect though so at least they didn't release anything to taint that.

 

High hopes for her solo material, she'd better not let me down!

I remember when a colleague at work recommended them back in 2008, and they seemed to really blow up that year with their appearance on Skins. All 3 albums will have a special place in my heart.

ALTHOUGH if Crystal Castles carried on with guest vocalists like Robert Smith then that would be okay.

GUTTED but super excited for the future solo ethan projects under CC (i assume that's what he'll do) and alice working with whatever producers she has to now! hoping for an arca x alice glass collaborative or something
