July 31, 201214 yr Delilah has just tweeted in case any members on here live around Manchester she be outside HMV (6pm), 90-100 Market Street (wherever that is) wants to go and get a signed album. Doing a fair bit of promotion! It would be great if she could overtake Conor Maynard, but I have thought that Conor had bigger pre-orders than Delilah.
July 31, 201214 yr Only 200 copies :o And Calvin getting another #2 is not surprising. The real question is how much he's going to sell. Here's his recent first week sales for comparison; Bounce feat. Kelis (66,920) Feel So Close (87,845) Let's Go feat. Ne-Yo (77,252) I think he could top the sales of FSC, as it's much higher than anything else on iTunes other than Heatwave RATE AHOY. 08 Bounce 10 Feel So Close (10 We Found Love) 04 Let's Go 04 Whatever This One Is Called With Example
July 31, 201214 yr I didn't expect Conor to be an albums seller at all, especially with how Vegas Girl performed in comparison to Can't Say No, was thinking he'd do about 10k max in the current albums climate, don't see him hanging on. With Wiley already ahead I think he'll hold on and extend his lead over Calvin/Example, both should easily pass 100k though hopefully.

I agree, Conor will begin to drop off now his main fanbase has got the album. I can't see casual fans or casual buyers getting his album tbh.
July 31, 201214 yr Delilah will be singing and signing at Manchester at 6pm, she has just finished singing and signing at Fopp in Notts. I really want her to do well in the albums but nowhere in my town (Tesco and Asda) bloomin' stocks it!  I want to buy a physical copy!! -- I think (and hope) Wiley feat. Ms D. will be #1 officially on Sunday, I think it's the better song and I really don't take to Example. Edited July 31, 201214 yr by cookie_monster
July 31, 201214 yr Wiley ft Ms D is this Ms Dynamite or a different artist? I believe that Ms. D is actually Dayo Olatunji who sings in "Oopsy Daisy" by Chipmunk. But yeah it is a bit confusing, I got really excited when I first saw the title because I think a Wiley and Ms Dynamite track would be amazing.
July 31, 201214 yr I believe that Ms. D is actually Dayo Olatunji who sings in "Oopsy Daisy" by Chipmunk. OMG you're actually right, I would've never guessed that  It's funny how Ms D is about to get a second #1 this week without anyone on Buzzjack noticing until now.

Haha! Well it's a bit odd because she's largely not listed as featuring on 'Oopsy Daisy', but it does say her name on the video version on iTunes. I don't see why they'd credit her on that and not the actual single though.

I knew who Dayo "I can never spell her surname" is, but I never knew Ms D was the same person! :o A lot of people probably hate her because she replaced The Saturdays on the chorus of Oopsy Daisy so essentially stole a #1 from them.
August 1, 201214 yr Author Midweeks: Conor Maynard and Plan B in race to No.1 Source: MW by Tim Ingham Albums: Conor Maynard looks set to land at No.1 on Sunday's Official UK Artist Albums Chart, but he's being chased down by Plan B. UK rapper Plan B's Ill Manors album - which hit the top spot last Sunday - has opened its account this week at No.2 on the Wednesday Official chart update. According to Official Chart Company figures, Maynard is around 500 sales ahead. Delilah's debut record on Atlantic, From The Roots Up hits No.3 on Wednesday's Midweeks, whilst following her performance at the Olympic Opening Ceremony last Friday, Emeli Sande's album Our Version Of Events moves up from No.8 to No.4. Maroon 5's Overexposed drops two places to No.5 Singles: Wiley feat. Ms D's Heatwave and Calvin Harris ft. Example's We'll Be Coming Back are also locked in a tight chart battle, with Wiley around 2,500 sales ahead on the Wednesday Midweeks. Heatwave, produced by Rymez, features a huge pop hook from guest vocalist Ms D (who featured on Chipmunk’s chart-topping hit Oopsy Daisy), could secure the King Of Grime his first solo Number 1 in the UK. Wiley’s previous highest solo chart position came courtesy of 2008’s Wearing My Rolex, which peaked at Number 2. Florence & The Machine's Spectrum is at No.3 after two weeks on the top of the chart, with Maroon 5's Payphone at No.4 and Karmin's Brokenhearted at No.5. A total of four new entries make an appearance inside today’s Official Chart Update Top 40. Led by Wiley’s Heatwave (1) and Calvin Harris FT Example’s new offering We’ll Be Coming Back (2), the opening track from Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds album Everybody’s On The Run is on course to enter at Number 35 just as the ex-Oasis man is due to kick off his UK tour next month. Compilations: Now That's What I Call Music! 82 continues to detroy the field in the compilations market, selling over three times as many as Olympic-themed soundtrack Isles Of Wonder - which is at No.2 on the Wednesday Midweeks. Now That's What I Call A No.1 is at No.3, followed by Now That's What I Call Reggae, which drops one place to No.4. The Chillout Sessions rounds out the Official comps Top Five. =================================================== Wednesday Update Top 40 Only Source: Radio 1/OCC Top 40 Singles 1 Wiley/Rymez & Ms. D* (2,5k ahead) 2 Calvin Harris/Example* 3 Florence + The Machine 4 Maroon 5 5 Karmin 6-10 7 Underworld 11-20 19 Arctic Monkeys* 21-30 30 Frank Turner 31-40 32 Emeli Sande [AWM]* 35 Noel Gallagher* 37 Drumsound & Bassline Smith* 38 Emeli Sande [MKOL] http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio1/chart/update/singles/print http://www.officialcharts.com/chart-news/h...-1-single-1515/ =================================================== Top 40 Albums 1 Conor Maynard* (500 copies ahead) 2 Plan B 3 Delilah* 4 Emeli Sande 5 Maroon 5 6-10 6 Mike Olfield* 7 Rick Ross* 11-20 15 Lana Del Rey 18 Nicki Minaj 19 Florence + The Machine 21-30 22 One Direction 23 Katy Perry 24 Jessie J 26 Amy MacDonald 27 Frank Turner* 31-40 31 Justin Bieber 32 Olly Murs 33 Blur* 34 Testament* 40 Noel Gallagher http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio1/chart/update/albums/print http://www.officialcharts.com/chart-news/c...r-1-album-1514/
August 1, 201214 yr Author And on a random note Bradley Wiggins wins the gold in the Men's time trails :cheer:
August 1, 201214 yr 3 Emeli Sande songs in the Top 40! :cheer: I hope at least Abide With Me can remain Top 40. Also nice to see Arctic Monkey’s cover of Come Together in the Top 20, and Noel Gallagher’s new song in the Top 40, although it will probably fall out come Sunday. Great to see Plan B still Top 3, at least we’ll have on week away from the large falls from number one. If Delilah is #3 now, I don’t think she’ll manage to climb to number one, but it would be nice for her to have the #2. Great to see Emeli Sande in the Top 5 too, Florence + the Machine jumping back into the Top 20, and Amy Macdonald climbing again. Ugh at Justin Bieber back in the Top 40, and boo at Joss Stone falling so many places!
August 1, 201214 yr Blur are higher than i initially expected, athough they will likely fall rapidly through the week, big drop for Joss Stone and i think she could possibly drop out of the top 40, likewise, Elton John falling extremely fast, really Elton and Newton Faulkner are non number 1 as their sales are just terrible. Keane are holding on extrmely well and are building up a relatively nice chart run, initially i had expected the album to be out of the top 75 by now, how delighted i am to be wrong. Olly Murs album is also holding quiet firm which is great considering he isnt doing promotion and has no single out, not to mention the album has sold extremely well up to this point.
August 1, 201214 yr Noel Gallagher sure can shift those physicals. Lots of new entries. If Emili Sande holds on until the end of the week, this could be the first time a Christian hymn has made the top 40 for many years.
August 1, 201214 yr Elton and Newton Faulkner are non number 1 as their sales are just terrible. The majority of number one albums are tbh, the only ones that I would say weren't (released this year) are: Lana Del Rey - Born to Die Emeli Sande - Our Version of Events Bruce Springsteen - Wrecking Ball Nicki Minaj - Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded Keane - Strangeland Bruce Springsteen and Keane were looking like non-number ones after quite big falls, but managed to stabalise. I think that these albums are worthy number ones, although I can see why some would disagree: Military Wives - In My Dreams Jack White - Blunderbuss
August 1, 201214 yr Author MW mid report added to the above update. Must go I'm burning my sausages. -_-
August 1, 201214 yr Conor Maynard only 500 copies ahead, so as long as Delilah isn't too far behind Plan B, Delilah could overtake if she's still doing promotion.
