Love the song though (Inferno version slightly more), I think her vocals are great on it. :wub:

Not keen on her new song. Quite weak compared to the singles from the last era.

Girl On Fire is impressing me a lot. Not the Inferno version - I don't think the song needs any Minaj additions, but the original is stunning... as she matures, she keeps getting better and better as an artist (with a high point of Try Sleeping tho).

 

And the video isn't that bad, really. Going against seemingly every opinion in this thread but I don't mind it. Granted it's a weird mishmash of different shades of lighting but that's just going to work to its advantage in catching the eye. I doubt it was meant to be anything more.

I'm confused as to what language 'De Novo Adagio' is as Google Translate doesn't seem to think it's Spanish, Italian, Portuguese or even Catalan! 'Listen 2 Ur Heart' is also rather childish for Alicia and I'm not sure what to say about 'Limitedless'. Can't decide if I'm interested in this album or not.

De Novo Adagio sounds like Latin or something?

I'd hazard a guess De Novo Adagio is 'the new at ease'? It does sound latin, I know adagio comes from the Italian for 'at ease' and I'd some novo is like 'nuovo' or 'nouveau' meaning new?

 

Digital Spy say Limitedless could possibly be Limitless which makes more sense, I agree too that Listen 2 Ur Heart sounds quite childish for Alicia, it's quite odd actually how 2 Ur in place of 'to your' makes it sound so much different!

Apparently the Nicki Minaj, Girl On Fire, is the only version on the album? :???: I prefer the original.

It's the only version worth having. The song is really dull without Nicki's inclusion. I find it a bit repetitive and bleh when it comes to the solo version. :(

I get a feeling that this is going to be absolutely HUGE. Closer to 'Empire State Of Mind (Part II)' sort of huge, as opposed to 'Doesn't Mean Anything' sort of huge! Her album is gonna be massive too I reckon.

This song has FINALLY properly hit me, love it now :wub: Her vocals are brilliant on it, and I also agree it could be huge. Looking forward to the album, if it's anywhere near as good as The Element Of Freedom I'll really enjoy it :D

That is beautiful! Alicia really knows how to deliver on her ballads! When she gets it right, there's no one that does it better.

Performing this on X Factor next week! Really think she's going to surprise people as to how well she does with this single! :D

I can't wait for it! I've loved this for song long, it's about time they, you know, released it :D I preordered the album earlier, I hope it's as good as The Element of Freedom!

As a fan of most of Alicia's songs I find GOF really irritating. Unfortunetly for me this is one of her worst songs if not her worst. Don't feel it goes anywhere much and she just shouts. Very disappointed having to say that as I love Alicia's music usually.

Loving 'Girl On Fire' now, massive grower! :cheer:

I really didn't like the performance on The X Factor :( I've loved the song for what seems like an eternity now, so was really looking forward to it as well, but her vocals sounded so restrained and either nerves got to her or that ridiculous outfit prevented her from properly getting into it... As you could tell when she tripped walking down the stairs and when she'd got off them!

 

I really hope the album's good though, not long to wait now!

I actually thought she sounded less strained than she does on the actual record.. :lol: Well there were a couple parts of the song which were a bit strained, but I really enjoyed her performance!
