There's still a niche out there for an urban-styled pop star (especially given Jessie J's gone painfully generic and was never that edgy anyway) so I'm hoping that "How We Do" is just an anomaly.

This is just my opinion, but I think How We Do imo was made specifically to be a hit in the US, since that's what most of the songs that do well there sound like. And I'm sure Domino was made with similar intentions. I don't think the song represents her as an artist, I think probably Hot Right Now and R.I.P do more. Especially if you listen to a couple of the songs she did before she got famous (e.g. her song with Tinchy Stryder and Craig David), and bear in mind what record label she's signed to.

I heard she's releasing R.I.P in the US after all. It'll be interesting to see what happens, since it's not simlar to most of the hits in the US, but I think it'll be massive on rhythmic radio at least, and also urban radio should play it there, and maybe pop too.

I bet Radio 1Xtra regret supporting Jessie J so much now.

I agree 'Domino' was a great track although it's got to the point now where I'm sick of seeing the video on the music channels. Have these people forgotton 'LaserLight' already? :D

As for 'How We Do (Party)' it's a good(ish) pop song but for me spoilt but the pointless "party and bull$*!*" which cheapens the song for me. It comes across as very try hard but it won't be the first time a song like this has done well (hello Eamon & Frankee) and I'm sure it won't be the last.

I remember those two songs  i think they were both at #1 one after the other.

Angel back up to #11!! :cheer: Hopefully he can go top 10 when will.i.am starts falling again.

Or preferably now so he kicks out Karmin, then I'll only dislike one song in the top 10 (Pound The Alarm) :D

I just read that Black Eyed Peas - I Gotta Feeling is the most downloaded song of all time on itunes. Is this true? if it is then it should have been at number 1 for longer than it was.

They were both number 1. What horrendous songs. One hit wonders from the worst class. :-/

To compare Rita Ora to those nobodies is a bit harsh though imo. :-(

I actually LOVED Frankee's song back when it first came out. Not so much now that I know what it all means. :kink:
I still love it, ngl  Both songs actually, although I always have prefered Frankee's

Where did you read that? I would've thought Adele had got it by now B-) IGF "only" got 2 weeks at #1, but spent almost 4 months in the top 10 and ages in the top 40. I agree that it should've spent longer, Tinchy Stryder did not deserve that week in the middle of IGF's 2 runs at #1.

I did really like Eamon and Frankee's songs at the time :kink: Now it's a guilty pleasure childhood classic I guess

If it wasn't for Frankie, I doubt people would look down on Eamon's so much. Granted the swearing was overboard and the real reason it was so big but he generally portrayed a story in the song. Then Frankie comes along and says there's two sides to a story, the presents practically no arguement in response to Eamon and sings a song about how rubbish he is in bed. Eamon's track wasn't that good anyway but was definitely cheapened in the eyes of history thanks to Frankie.
How We Do is brilliant but Domino is one of the most overrated songs of all time. :puke2:
But no addition on Radio 1 today... :(

The R1 playlist hasn't updated properly - the A, B and INMWT lists have updated but the C-List hasn't (so lots of songs appear to be on both B and C). I'd imagine she has actually been added.

Can't believe JB is already as high as #15, definite big hit for him it looks like.

Bonkers  #34 Probably be higher then Scream by next week if not sooner.

Some Nights  #42

Ooh ! Thanks for this bit of information Bré ! I thought I had already seen the same additions to the C-list last week but I wasn't sure since the rest was updated.

Fingers crossed she can sneak in it then !

I Gotta Feeling in the most-downloaded song on iTunes in the world I think, maybe that's what he read. I bet Somebody That I Used to Know will overtake though, that's been massive in practically every country in the world too I think.

I loved Eamon and Frankee's songs too, and I still do.

You have good taste. :kink: Brokenhearted is okay though, but Pound the Alarm is awful, and one of the most annoying songs I've ever heard. I'm absolutely thrilled it's underperforming tbh.

Off topic, but did you know that your BJSC song is C-listed on BBC Radio 1Xtra? :o

Back on the real radio 1 playlist, Fazer, fun., Of Monsters And Men, Ne-Yo and Pink are now up to B-list!

Is Radio 1 going to playlist Little Mix by next week, and then proberbly Tulisa a few weeks later?
