I think if that Bom Bom song is gets released early (as in in 3 hours ) then it could stop Rita.

But otherwize, her competition will be Wiley, and I doubt he's going to be selling much more than 50,000 in his 3rd week, so it shouldn't be too difficult for her.

I think Rita should easily get it, unless Bom Bom is relased early which does tend to happen with these novelty dance tracks! I love both tracks but I'd be pulling for Bom Bom

Weird how we all though Party & Bullshit was a certain #1 no matter what not long ago now we're doubting it slightly  I do wonder if something from the closing ceremony will stop her, but the only new track I know of coming from is a 2012 remix of Kate Bush's Running Up That Hill (and we don't even know 100% if she is performing, but the remix is out tomorrow), and much as I'd love her to top iTunes I doubt it will happen  I expect we'll just see some tracks re-enter the top 40.

Expect 'London' by Sandy Denny & Thea Gilmore (I think that was the song) to rise up the charts after being used in the final montage of the Games! It was lovely!

Reading up about this, I've learnt that there is a very heartwarming story behind this beautiful song! I'm sure a few of you know, Sandy Denny was a well-known songwriter in the 1960s and 70s. She died in 1978 and lots of lyrics she wrote before her death were found. Then Thea Gilmore, a big fan of Sandy's, was contacted in order to use Sandy's unused lyrics. Originally, lots of different artists were going to sing each song but in the end the people behind it loved Thea's first song so much, she did the whole album!

The album is called 'Don't Stop Singing', vocals and melody by Thea Gilmore and lyrics by Sandy Denny. Lovely story! It was released earlier this year.

I really hope people try to find out the song after hearing it on the BBC montage and get it into the top 40 on iTunes after they did with 'River'!

I didn't even think Rita Ora was in contention of #1? I haven't heard much buzz around it outside internet hype.

I think the general opinion is Rita is one of the most obvious #1s of the year, I hope so anyway!! You never know though, we could get a surprise!

If 'How We Do (Party)' was to miss the #1 spot next week it'd be a massive wake up call to the record lable for holding back its release for 9 weeks.

Whilst I'm not expecting big things, I'd quite like to see Porter Robinson 'Language' do well next week.

It might be because I've been keeping up with her US standing and she's not been massive.

I don't think this one deserves #01 as it's not that good, but Roc The Life should be massive.

Ah right! I think this one has a lot more hype than even 'R.I.P.' had, but the closing ceremony focussed on British music with a 20m+ audience could spring a surprise!

I do hope 'How We Do' gets to #1 though, I love it! I hope Heather Small performs 'Proud' in the closing ceremony, but I haven't heard anything about that :(

I'm surprised so few (i.e. zero) people are tipping 'Language' to be big next week - its EP has now fallen behind Rita on iTunes (61 and 56 respectively) but it's still been up there in the pre-orders for a good while. I could definitely see it being a top 10 hit at least.

Ooh, I do like being right now and again! :kink:

'London' 82! :cheer:

'London' 64!! It's moving VERY fast! :cheer:

 5. Wonderful - Angel

 6. Taking Over Me - Lawson

:cheer: Top 10 must be in the bag for Angel next week even if he can't sneak in this week.

 30. Little Talks - Of Monsters and Men

Hit quite badly by the weekend effect :(

Who is Peter Robinson exactly? I'm assuming it's not Mr. Popjustice embarking on a pop career?

Porter Robinson. He's an American electro house/dubstep DJ (more like deadmau5 than Skrillex though, at least on this song).

Oh gosh! Ignore me. :teresa:

Porter Robinson, not Peter. :P That'd be just scary considering 'Language' is brilliant slice of trance. I only saw the video for the first time on MTV Dance a couple of days ago but it made a big impact on me.

Don't lose faith just yet. I remember being gutted when Gotye kept slipping down iTunes because of the weekend effect, and we all know happened there. :D

I really like that song - glad it will be out to buy at Midnight.
