I have no clue if I'm in a 'good' semi final for my song. Anyone with a brain would obviously LOVE it. ^_^

I'd say the semi finals are evenly split. There does seem to be more pop countries taking part than indie nations so already I have a gut feeling the winner this month will be a glorified pop track. :D Quite a contrast to the last two contests.

I reckon FSR Rontvia could do pretty well with their Lana Del Rey, knockoff :P (Although I am liking this track a lot more than anything I've heard from Lana - save for 'Born To Die' (really grown on me!) and 'Ghetto Baby' by Cheryl, if we're including that). It'll appeal to Lana fans which seem to have a pop/credible-Indie sort of fan base.

Have people heard the BFF version (the original? :unsure:) of 'Outta My Head'? Diandra's version really does sound like it's the "best thing EVER!" in comparison to THAT. :lol: It's terrible.

 

 

I echo what everyone else has said already, lovely presentation and unique "showcase". :wub: The results of both the semis and the finals are going to be nothing short of mind blowing. :wub: MAJOR respect for you taking so much time out of your day to dedicate yourself this much :o

And the Grouplove track doesn't scream obvious winner to me either - I can't think how it goes off the top of my head at least, although I must have heard it before.

 

It's not that it's an obvious winner (I don't think it is at all, although it should do alright unless a load of people mark it down a ton for already knowing it), it's just that it's vastly more well-known than anything else that's been entered this contest. It's a great song but a bit of a WTF entry, now at least.

I've just recently come accross Grouplove while checking Hot 100...It's no ones fault that I don't watch TV or commercials...if it was that well known the way you desribe it, I'm pretty sure mods would step in and vetoed.

Don't particularly see what's wrong with sending Phone Sex anyway, Grimes isn't even titled as the main artist, I love the Blood Diamonds production/vibe, why would I send Nightmusic? I didn't really like 'Genesis' or 'Oblivion', so I don't really listen much to solo Grimes.

We research each song to see what impact it's making online and Grouplove's didn't alarm us at all. It's an old song by Buzzjack's standards that featured on an advertisement last year and it was murdered by Glee a few months ago. Unless our eyes are deceiving us we literally could not find anything online to suggest that the song would be a threat to this contest.

It seems a bit weird that the whole ethos of this contest was to take a risk with something that you love, and the proportion of uninspired entries seems really very high. Like half the acts have already been sent before!

Electric Shock :wub: Liam, you are not DNQ'ing this time.

I hope not :wub: Feeling more confident with it, it's the sort of K-Pop I think more than just the K-Pop fanbase will like, so I think I should do ok for once! I really love Electric Shock anyway and would be more gutted if it flopped than I've been the past few months with my DNQs and flop with So High.

 

As for the Diandra thing, I am a bit annoyed because I was set on it last month, and I can only imagine how much worse than me Jahq is feeling about it, although I think Don't Fail Me Now will do well for him though luckily. Personally I would've been for vetoing Outta My Head but to be honest I don't think it's a certain winner or anything, it has a chance but hype has died down. I'd likely feel less strongly about it if I hadn't been so set on sending it last month.
