I think one reason why the olympic related songs are decreasing now is that it's almost the 48 hour anniversairy of when those songs rose quickly up the itunes chart and some of them got into the top 10. I still feel gutted that the olympics are over as there's nothing to watch on T.V
Thank the Lord I wasn't the only one who thought they were all entirely average at best. Jessie J is so desperate when she performs. Yes we know you can go up and down the scale Love. no need to turn every note into 10! Yawn..

Y-y-y-y-y-y-y-y-yes it g-g-g-g-g-g-ets annoying quick

One Day Like This  #7

As Long As You Love Me back  #18

Under The Sun  #19

Given the brashness and uselessness of Jessie J/Spice Girls/Tinie Tempa etc she made the right decision to turn it down. Although, Annie Lennox managed to pull it of without losing any dignity.

Spice girls represented british pop at it finest and made an impact, so they werent useless at all. Kate bush once used to be a maintream artist to scoring no.1 hits performing on totp etc. etc.

Lol yeah :P

Out of interest, I'm holidaying Menorca and bought How We Do yesterday from iTunes, will it still count towards the British chart?

29 Inthelittlewood ft The Yogscast & Sparkles/ Screw The Nether.

This is awful. :( Really hope this doesn't make the Top40 on Sunday. Wonder if they got permission from Maroon 5.

They've got quite a campaign with this:

Hope One Day Like This manages to stay Top10. But at least it will reach a new peak on Sunday.

24 Oasis/ Wonderwall Do people think that 'Wonderwall' will manage to get to the Top40 on Sunday? Or do you expect the big drop soon enough?

 47 Green Day/ Kill The DJ Doing better than 'Oh Love' did.

Yep, if it you brought it from the UK store with the credit on there it should do!

Does anyone think Rita Ora would have had a number 1 single if her album came out first before the singles?

Maybe Hot Right Now, since that was massive. Unfortunately I don't think R.I.P would've done, and probably not How We Do either. Just longer chart runs with lower peaks.

To be honest, I think a lot of cases, if artists released their albums before releasing any singles, the single choices would probably end up completely different.

For example, if Rihanna released her album before any singles, I doubt You Da One would've been a single, since they would've seen beforehand that it wasn't a stand-out track with the public, and that everybody seemed more interested in other songs (We Found Love, Talk That Talk, Where Have You Been, Cockiness, etc.).

With pre-album singles, you don't really know how people are going to react, until after you've released it, so it can be quite risky, but with post-album singles you do, so if every single was post-album, I bet songs like Little Bad Girl, Judas, Champagne Showers, Run the World, etc. would never have been singles, since the record labels would've seen there were other songs on the albums which everybody was more interested in.

Shame to see the Olympic-effect wearing off, though I'm confident we'll still see Emeli Sande in the top 10 come Sunday and likely Kate Bush and Elbow. John Lennon will probably scrape the top 15 (as the Now 82 boost will still be benefitting some tracks).

Her music is still something to be proud of. She is an immense talent. I'm still not quite sure what you're problem with her is.

Same as the Spice Girls then, even as a Kate Bush stan I won't pretend she was bigger than them for one minute (she simply wasn't, no contest) but the Spice Girls have split up and are no longer mainstream artists getting no.1 hits, they were a worldwide phenomenon at the time but they're not anymore. Kate Bush isn't the height of relevancy either but she's done better from the ceremony and there's not much you can do about that.
