Gosh, Lana has such a history on my charts, being the most successful artist of any in terms of #1s despite only charting since 2012.

To date she has 13 #1s with The Greatest looking likely to become a 14th this week or in the next few. Most successfully from her first album, but consistently at least one from each project she's put out since 2012.

She has an additional 18 top ten hits for a total of 31 top tens to date, including #1s, and not including any tracks yet from NFR! as that will be impacting my charts this weekend for the first time.

The eagle-eyed among you may note that despite Lana being obviously one of my most favourite artists out there, and despite her huge haul of success on my personals, notable outright absences include some of her biggest chart hits. The reason is simple - they never really struck me as belonging to the same artist and contain zero of what I go to Lana's music for. Particularly Young & Beautiful, which I think is either frequently misinterpreted or is written tongue in cheek, given that the key theme of the Great Gatsby is NOT that love is eternal and forever, but that the character in question ONLY is with his wife because she IS young & beautiful. /PSA

As well as her on-release chart record, Lana is also responsible for four tracks in my alltime top 50 - the most of any act, including my most played song total since I started tracking in 2013 - West Coast, which leads the pack by about 30 plays clear of anything else. She's just wonderful.
