I really think people need to wind their neck in about the furloughing scheme (in general, not necessarily on Buzzjack). The scheme is there is to help businesses during this time - FACT: a lot of businesses have multi-millionaire owners, however only a select few high-profile business people are getting criticised for accessing the scheme (e.g. Wetherspoons, Victoria Beckham.) If the government didn't want businesses with rich owners to access the scheme, they would have put a cap on it. Look around you at how many stores and businesses on the high street are closed - do you really think they're all little family run businesses??

I think it is very unfair at this time to criticise and target business owners for accessing a scheme that has been made available to them. I thought we were all preaching "be kind" a couple of months ago?

No darling, rich people were saying 'be kind' to the rest of us.

Again, no1 is complaining about businesses accessing the scheme. They should as that is there for. What people are rightly saying is that those businesses that can stay afloat should take the brunt first.

Victoria is in a difficult position: she is well known to try avoid paying her taxes back in the day, is well known for being a multi-millionair with millions in investment from very rich people. She is no little business run by a local family in Coventry. She runs a multi-million business and is a multi-millionaire worth around £300million. She can afford to pay her staff wages for a few months.

Of course she will get press about it - she is a public persona, a celebrity. Wetherspoons is also getting a lot of shit thrown at them because of the way they've handled this - and rightly so!

I am not so sure what is so hard to understand here.

  • David Beckham is being knighted, which means Victoria can go by Lady Beckham... she's a real Lady x

One thing I will say in her defence is she is topping up the staff wages with the extra 20% which lots of businesses are not doing so good on her for that. William Hill where I used to work have their staff on 80% and are not paying the extra 20% which was advised by the government... neither are Wetherspoons. Shame on them!

Absolutely! Wetherspoons, SportsDirect and Virgin should all go into liquidation tbh! Shameless bast*rds, all of them!

I hate the fact that I bloody love Virgin Atlantic (it's such a fab airline to travel on) and Virgin Florida holidays so much... I always feel a mixture of excitement and like a total shit whenever use them  (I'm a hypocrite!)

Isn't it a common knowledge that money and fame always come first for the Beckhams? A lot of wealthy people are like that actually. She can afford to but she didn't want to and her VB brand hasn't been profitable for years it's understandable for me why she did what she did. The business should be able to run itself to be considered successful and VB brand is not. It's just something normal in the real selfish business world that money is always the priority for them. But Victoria is right, why only her is being slammed for this?

She is not right, sorry. Plenty other celebrity business owners are being slammed/dragged for this. We are more aware of her criticism because we care more about her than say Richard Brandson!

Congratulations to them both, hope they are very happy together  7 months then getting engaged seems very quick to me but each to their own, don't think David and Victoria were together long before they got engaged were they?

She met him in 97 and got engaged in 98, so yeah wasn't too long either

I'm definitely anticipating David and Victoria becoming grandparents before turning 50... what a thought :drama:
I can remember Brooklyn being BORN. He can't be engaged, that makes me OLD.

Apparently some papers this weekend Brooklyn and his gf are marrying at St Paul’s cathedral
Apparently that's able to happen because David and Victoria have OBEs. Seems overly extravagant to me!
