Good Time will not get it next week, it's already been out too long unoffically. It's Amelia vs. Tulisa. One of them will do it, I'm sure. But I don't know who. If one gets it, the other will flop.

You'll be hoping from what I'm staying it's Amelia........

I agree - 'official releases' are now meaningless where a song has already been available via cherry-picking.
I'm sorry to bring up old points, but the points made here about Owl not getting number 1 because hes been available for too long already are utternonsense. Gotye climbed, weeks after being on sale as did fun.! So release dates are indeed meaningless, but the probability of a song not going to number 1 because of the time it was available is irrelevant. If a track is popular enough nowadays, it will get there.

59p songs in the top 100:

:ne: 11 Fun. - Some Nights

:ne: 33 Fazer - Killer

:ne: 40 Professor Green feat. Sierra Kusterbeck - Avalon

 51 Uncle Kracker - Follow Me

 56 Rizzle Kicks - Mama Do The Hump

 57 Coolio feat. L.V. - Gangasta's Paradise

 65 The Killers - Mr Brightside

 70 Owl City - Fireflies

 79 Taylor Swift - Love Story

 80 Tom Petty - Free Fallin'

 81 Stevie Wonder - Superstition

 84 Smiler feat. Professor Green & Taiwah - Top Of The World

 92 Jake Bugg - Lightning Bolt

I can't see Tulisa coming close to #1, expecting The Killers to be the highest new entry but not at #1 (not sure who'll be #1 next week, maybe just Ne-Yo again on much lower sales, or maybe The Script could climb there).

Whatever happens, the sales will be relatively low for a '1, so almost any of the contenders could do it.

Are we in for a run of utter shit number 1s then? :(

What's with the future tense? We've already been there a while... :(

Don't know why some people see The Killers as contenders, Runaways would be lucky to go Top 10 imo. Is there even much hype around it?

It's had quite a bit of airplay on BBC Radio 1, although I think it's more likely that whoever is number one this week could have a second week at number one. I hope it can get Top 5, which I think it should do.

Some Nights is now 59P? today it will get into the top 10 for sure.

Good to see fun down to 59p, hopefully get a top 10 place now. Surely thats a record company move? I see Public Enemy is playlisted on 6 music!!

I think next week - Good Time, I Cry and Some Nights will be fighting for no1 next week because this weeks 3 new releases will drop in sales imo!!

I think Flo Rida might climb to #1 in the coming weeks. It's climbed like 20 places in the past 24 hours, and is already #21. Imagine what will happen when it's got a music video and is all over Radio 1 and Capital.

Its chart run so far in Norway is 8-1, which is very strange for a post-album song. Firework managed to debut in the top 10 here, but that had an X Factor performance.

Great to see Professor Green and Smiler discounted. They need to discount Public Enemy, Labrinth and Plan B too, to make the charts good.

'Some Nights' has now been reduced to 59p! That should secure a top 10 position on iTunes very soon! :cheer:

:yahoo: I enjoyed watching it climb to #11 and slowly inching to the top 10, but this should speed It's climb up nicely!

Also happy about Pro Green!

Good move by Cheryls team if thats it to reduce to 59p, that gives it a much stronger chance of going top 10 now.
Cheryl might reach top 10 the week after her release date, as she performs on the Jonathon Ross Show on Saturday.

As much as I'd love her to, I can't see Leona getting to #1 with 'Trouble'. Radio play hasn't been existent yet and Syco are typically doing nothing.

I really hope Tulisa flops with that piece of shit. LIU is even worse than the dire 'Young'. Hopefully she'll do a "Sandi Thom".

The Script have overtaken Pink on itunes so i would suspect they will take the number 2 on Sunday, the real battle with these 2 artists will be in the album chart, both have been consistent good sellers in the past so i look forward to seeing who will achieve the higher of the opening sales.

Is it? This morning it wasn't yet, but I hope it's true :cheer:
