Surprised there isn't a topic for this (I don't know why I hadn't started one sooner though). It looks phenomenal.

In 2072, when the mob wants to get rid of someone, the target is sent 30 years into the past, where a hired gun awaits. Someone like Joe, who one day learns the mob wants to 'close the loop' by transporting back Joe's future self.

The reviews for it have been nothing short of outstanding. It's going to be the biggest non-superhero/major franchise sequel, film of 2012.

SO READY FOR THIS.

Just SIX days to go! I'm so pumped for this. JGL won't let me down, I'm sure of it!
Could this be the film to make Gordon-Levitt a proper Hollywood leading man? I reckon it's likely if the public takes to it like the critics have, 96% on Rotten Tomatoes.

anyone else think JGL looks a bit like Ed Norton in this?

looks pretty damn good

Long overdue.

Looking forward to this, it looks really good, its getting some great ratings.
This was pretty awesome anyone else seen it yet, it did make me jump at the very beginning, just never expected it to start like that. Totally recommend it.

It really was brilliant. I loved everything and everyone in it! It really is the best non-superhero film of this year for me. HANDS DOWN.

The writers to this have been watching too much LOST :D

Really good film nethertheless. JLG is excellent.

Prometheus, bitch.

Prometheus is absolutely stunning, yes, but everything else about it is poor.

Saw this yesterday - very intelligent well acted film.

JGL is gorgeous (long time crush) which is always a bonus. The little kid was amazing as well - quite gripping.

HALLELUJAH. Someone else who is of the same opinion as me! Save for the visuals and Michael Fassbender, it's incredibly long winded and boring. This is much better, for me.

This was pretty f***ing brilliant to be honest.

JGL with a Bruce Willis face was f***ing weird though.

this looped my mind, couldn't even work out which joe was coming from where until about halfway in and that ending.. damnn. the cinematography was stunning also.

Finally got around to watching this just now and I think I was a bit disappointed by it, need to let it settle in before fully making my mind up though.

I had a very definite idea as to what I expected from the film and it just ended up being nothing like it. Well, the first half was but the second half just went in a direction that I really didn't expect.

Watched this the other night and whilst I really quite like the premise and the acting is top notch, I felt that it was far too predictable and the ending was a big fat let down. Couldn't help but be reminded of La Jetee (and consequently both 12 Monkeys and The Terminator) and Blade Runner in places

Oh and if you actually try to think about the film logically it falls apart (unlike 12 Monkeys whose time travel set up actually works)

I agree that the ending was awful and should have been so much more. You have so many potential things that could happen and they just choose that.

It fell apart for me when they introduced the levitation aspect, it was really unnecessary and detracted from the interesting concept of the loopers.
