However, at this time of year there's too much competition from new releases to make a #1 return (assuming it even makes it in the frst place) a relaistic possibility.

Yet again she releases the 'wrong' single...

Six weeks at no. 1 during X Factor season is an incredible achievement when this is the time when everyone bags a performance slot on X Factor to get their one week at #1. 'We Found Love' was a breath of fresh air to the charts for its longevity. 'Gangnam Style' could easily do this as it's likely to continue building on the momentum it's already built. Simon Cowell is a fan so PSY could even get a performance slot on X Factor which will just boost sales even more.

The only upcoming release that seems like a bonafide #1 is 'Live Like We're Young' by One Direction. PSY could easily return to #1 after that if its sales are at their peak in a fortnight. The track will also be getting more airplay on radio and music channels.

I'm surprised people know The Janoskians outside of Australia. They're some Youtube vloggers turned celebrities

No, thats not right (as Gezza has said). I was 15 when Ebeneezer Goode was number 1 and it was not seen as a novelty record at the time - more of a cheeky rave track with highly suggestible lyrics (E's are good, E's are good......!).

It wasn't a novelty track, but hard-core ravers turned their noses up at it, considering it far too commercial.

Only many years later did they admit that it was about ecstacy, which was strenuously denied at the time.

Just the Way You Are is a better example, because 2010 was VERY busy around X Factor time, whilst 2011 was very, very slow, with the same chart for months on end seemingly. In 2010, there were massive hits being released every week.

I hope this year it's a repeat of 2009 and 2010 with all the chart movement.

Also who closed my One Direction poll and why was it closed?

It's not closed... or it might have been closed by mistake. ;)

It was closed just a minute ago but no worries. I've just heard the song for the first time and it's like What Makes You Beautiful and One Thing put together.

This is what all the hype has been about. Anyone who buys this is CRAZY CRAZY CRAZY CRAZY!!!

One Direction fans are animals.
Turn to pretty much anywhere else on the internet and you'll find tonnes of love/loons for them

You have a point. Everywhere should have 1D love though. -_-

Nicki Minaj & Cassie - The Boys  #99

Shouldn't you be training for the Liverpool game on Sunday?

 28 The Janoskians/ Set This World On Fire

Gerry And The Pacemakers are already down to #72 less than a week since they were at #1, must be the fastest slump from iTunes #1 ever surely. (Ignoring its original 1963 peak it also breaks the previous record for lowest-peaking iTunes #1 by quite a lot - 'The Edge Of Glory' and '5 O'Clock' with their #6 peaks were the lowest before, at least since downlaods became a major selling force, but 'You'll Never Walk Alone' will only peak at #12 this time around).
I'm not a 1D fan at all but has anyone else noticed that Zayn always gets the best parts of the songs? His second verse is so catchy.

Leona Lewis & Ne-You have been confirmed for the first live shows, Let Me Love You might actually be in the top 10 for a long time and could actually become Ne-Yo's biggest hit to date!

25. The Janoskians - Set This World On Fire

63. Lana Del Rey - Blue Velvet

95. Nicki Minaj & Cassie - The Boys

116. Nicki Minaj - Va Va Voom

123. B.o.b & Nicki Minaj - Out Of My Mind

176. Maroon 5 - One More Night (How come this has not taking off in the uk)

181. Carly Rae Jepsen - This Kiss

I doubt it. Give Me Everything is over 900,000 sales and had a chart run of: 35-25-12-4-1-1-1-2-4-4-5-8-9-6-7-etc.

And even if you don't count that, I doubt it'll beat Closer which had a chart run of: 22-24-12-7-5-3-2-1-2-4-6-4-6-etc.

You never know though. But Let Me Love You will need to be in the top 10 still by November/December to top those I think.

I will OFFICIALLY lose hope in humanity if Let Me Love You is still top 10 by then.
