September 19, 201212 yr Author But Buble's album sold a million by january this year, although he's got that extra purchasing power for xmas LA dont have!!
September 21, 201212 yr No-one's mentioned a possible big Greatest Hits album but I don't know which will be out this year.
September 22, 201212 yr Author Theres a new McFly one in November, but i dont think there was one at all last year, can anyone remember? I must read this weeks Music Week, they have their annual preview of all the final quarter releases which is one of my favourite issues of each year!!
September 22, 201212 yr Westlife had a greatest hits last year which was probably the most successful greatest hits from Christmastime last year.
September 22, 201212 yr Westlife had a greatest hits last year which was probably the most successful greatest hits from Christmastime last year. That was pretty much the only new GH of any significance last Christmastime - the next biggest was a re-release of Rod Stewart's 'Storyteller - The Complete Anthology: 1964-1990'.
September 22, 201212 yr Thats right, it was a dry year after Pinks the year before! And Bon Jovi's and Robbie Williams'.
September 22, 201212 yr Author Was that last year or 2 years ago? Robbies was the one with shame as the promo single?
September 22, 201212 yr Was that last year or 2 years ago? Robbies was the one with shame as the promo single? 2 years ago - 2010. And yeah, but it was a lead single.
September 23, 201212 yr I'd say Little Mix will become most popular album, on sales though it will be One Direction.
September 25, 201212 yr I think Robbie will smash it with Take The Crown, but Olly Murs and One Direction will be huge as well. I can't see Susan Boyle having a fourth Number One album-which is a shame. Mumford & Sons, after a stellar first week will follow a similar path to Mylo Xyloto-not huge but steady. Buble will do well, but nowhere near the success of last year. I predict the top five Christmas albums: 1 Take The Crown: Robbie Williams 2 Take Me Home: One Direction 3 Right Place Right Time: Olly Murs 4 Christmas: Michael Buble 5 DNA: Little Mix Edited September 25, 201212 yr by madollar
September 25, 201212 yr Leona Lewis will underperform surely. JLS will also sell quite mediocrely compared to their previous releases and I truly doubt they'll get a number 1. Susan Boyle, on the other hand, will probably do better than expected (as usual) but will keep the declining sales. One Direction, Olly Murs, Robbie Williams, Rihanna, Mumford & Sons will all do pretty well I reckon. The re-releases, especially Buble and Emeli Sande, will also do well. Giving the strong performance of the lead single, Taylor Swift will also probably do better than her previous album although obviously nowhere as big as the US.
September 25, 201212 yr I completely forgot about One Direction actually. 'Up All Night' wasn't the massive smash I thought it would be last year (still big obviously but was expecting bigger), but 'Take Me Home' could do a lot better. Olly will do well again but I don't think he'll quite match the success of his first two eras. Should be a second #1 for him though. He again only has a month to take advantage of the Christmas sales rush, he should really release his albums a couple of weeks earlier! JLS are releasing against Robbie and thus dooming themselves to another #2 at best. Military Wives are also releasing another album that week so they could even miss the #2 (but MW haven't got a hope in hell of beating Robbie so it'll at least end their 100% #1 record). Would be very surprised if they're any lower than #3 though (other competition on the week from Ne-Yo and, erm, Chris Moyles, with Calvin being the only release of note the week before) and I think this album will do around as well as 'Jukebox' did rather than continuing their rapidly tailing off sales. September 26, 201212 yr Did JLS not beat Robbie's last solo effort to no1 in November 2009? That was back when people were interested in JLS.
September 26, 201212 yr That was back when people were interested in JLS. I wouldn't put it that bluntly but essentially this.
