September 23, 201212 yr I can confirm that I will have no internet connection in my cold caravan. :) Then you have my blessing.
September 24, 201212 yr There is no Loch Ness monster. Nobody up here will definitively and thoroughly debunk the myth because the sheer amount of money in tourism it brings in is irreplaceable.
September 24, 201212 yr Author There is no Loch Ness monster. Nobody up here will definitively and thoroughly debunk the myth because the sheer amount of money in tourism it brings in is irreplaceable. So what are we seeing in all the photos and videos then? Let me link to Tim Dinsdale's famous film from 1960. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_v7zNGTdJC8 Edited September 24, 201212 yr by Common Sense
September 24, 201212 yr Author Come on guys. I'm dying to know what you think of Tim's video. He's probably the most famous Nessie hunter but is dead now.
September 24, 201212 yr Come on guys. I'm dying to know what you think of Tim's video. He's probably the most famous Nessie hunter but is dead now. I would be interested to see the original footage of that, that wasn't "enhanced". What did he film it on? 8mm?
September 24, 201212 yr Author I would be interested to see the original footage of that, that wasn't "enhanced". What did he film it on? 8mm? I have no idea. I'll find out.
September 24, 201212 yr Just found this pic of Tim http://www.loch-ness-monster-nessieland.com/pictures/loch-ness-monster-tim-dinsdale.jpg So I think that is an 8mm camera. I will see if I can find the original footage, not enhanced.
September 24, 201212 yr Turns out it is a 16mm bolex camera. So why is the footage so crap? Was it dark?
September 24, 201212 yr Author Not sure but doesn't look like a boat to me. He submitted his film to Kodak and their experts say it wasn't faked and appears to be an animate swimming object. Well there was no Photoshop then!
September 24, 201212 yr Author There's another film though that I was thinking of last night and was trying to find it for Jester. It's clearer, from someone else and more recent. Came across it on a Nessie site last week. I'll find it.
September 24, 201212 yr Whilst I would love to believe there is something down there I have seen no conclusive evidence for a creature like the one in popular myth. I'm not saying it's impossible but it seems to me very unlikely. It's more fun not to know one way or the other anyway.
September 24, 201212 yr I have been reading about this chris and apparently the BBC made a very good 35mm print of this back in 1960. I would love to see it. According to a blog I just read, his family don't like anyone hosting the footage so it isn't easy to get hold of the original. His son came out recently and said there is no way it is a boat pictured in the footage. If the theory is that this is a descendant of dinosaurs, how does that tally with the fact that the Loch has only existed for 10,000 years? Before that the whole area was solid ice for 20,000 years.

Yes that's hard to explain. Have I got you more interested in it then? Unless it can come and go, through the River Ness in to the sea. Aren't there locks in the river though? Googled and can't find the 35mm print anywhere online. :( I really need to see it too. I'm convinced there's something large in Loch Ness as there's been too many sightings. Yes there have been hoax pictures too but even discounting those too many people have sewn something. I don't really believe the land sighings from the 1930's very much though. A BBC funded full sonar scan in the 90's found nothing but other scans have registered large unknown objects in the loch. Edited September 24, 201212 yr by Common Sense

September 24, 201212 yr Oh Chris : :( next you be saying there is a yeti sitting next to you in your lounge, you need to change your meds. :(
September 24, 201212 yr Author Oh Chris : :( next you be saying there is a yeti sitting next to you in your lounge, you need to change your meds. :( Oh Martin. Don't be so dismissive. How do you know there isn't one? Would you go for a nice summer swim in there then? :o
September 25, 201212 yr Author I'd just like to add that there have been sightings of lake monsters in at least 50 lakes around the world although Nessie is probably the most famous.
September 26, 201212 yr I'd just like to add that there have been sightings of lake monsters in at least 50 lakes around the world although Nessie is probably the most famous. And they clearly ALL exist.
September 26, 201212 yr How can you see something that doesn't exist? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lying http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hallucination http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Drugs
