Has anyone else tried and failed to download the song from Amazon? I swear this whole campaign is cursed!

 

What makes matters worse is Amazon charged me TWICE for the non-working download!

 

On another forum people are complaining that either the MP3 from Amzon does not download or if it does then there are pauses in the song! They really need the backing of a label rather than releasing themselves as its all gone so wrong!

The single release is just a disaster with much of the blame laying on themselves and management. They should have done it properly or not at all.

Indeed and tbh im actually pleased that its almost out of the Top 60 on iTunes - I would rather this miss the charts altogether on Sunday than becoming a #73 smash!

According to H's twitter they are doing some promo today, including some X FACTOR filming!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I so wish it was an XF performance but it's more likely an Xtra Factor slot but better than nothing I guess!

Looks like they are really going to get behind the album release then - Never expected a TV ad campaign!

Id love an x factor performance but i agree its likely to be xtra factor but its better than nothing, im glad they seem to getting fully behind the album, a hit album would be great for them.

Really disappointed this has missed the top 75 and made its chart debut at number 82 :(

I'm pleased its missed the Top 75 though and become a #82 smash - I would have been gutted if it had got to #74 or something as chart books only include Top 75 chart runs.

Look in top 5. Nobody don't care about good pop music anymore.

 

Horror from PSY was # 1 and amazing pop song "Light Up The World" is only # 82.

I hope they're not basing the performance of their Christmas album as as "make or break" moment for Steps. Not even the fans were particularly thrilled by Claire's "how about a Christmas album?" suggestion. I believe they'd have potential with proper new material, so I hope they haven't shot themselves in the foot with this project.

f they promote the album it could do well, my only worry is in general christmas albums dont do well in the UK with the exception of Michael Buble, but over the years the likes of Mariah Carey, Christina Aguilera and Celine Dion but to name but a few released christmas albums when there careers were at their peak and they didnt do well.

Funny you should mention Xtra Factor...they were on it last night in a film piece with Ella Henderson in a dance studio (in light of the comments the Captain made about her dance moves on Club Classics week!)

I saw that but it was very short and would have done nothing to provoke sales apart from a few tragedy sales.

I still think if they gave at least one performance on LUTW on TV or did a week of promo it would go top 20 still...

 

It did well to crack the top 40 on itunes given there was hardly any promo at all - I think in the run up to X-Mas, if they bother to perform it then it could still happen

Off to see Steps at their DVD signing today and after watching the DVD I am on it 6 times as I was in the front row - I was also on the Sky TV concert too :lol:
