I think it's horrible. It will, however, be a Number One-if Adele doesn't beat her to it.
Dreadful song. Used to love Rihanna, but now she just churns out song after song and the quality is dropping as quickly as Katie Price's knickers.
I voted top 3, this song's nice but it doesn't have much commercial appeal aside from the fact that this is Rihanna. I can see it tiring on me after a few months whereas Only Girl and We Found Love lasted long for me. I'll be surprised if this gets to #1, I sadly think this era could be the beginning of the end for her, unless she gets out a killer dance tune before dropping the album and goes to #1 worldwide again.

Lol, what? How?

I actually rather like this track, and I'm no Rihanna fan ordinarily! Perhaps not as "instant" as some she has released but far more rewarding. By the way all of this talk of albums and singles "dropping" on BJ -did we become American without me noticing? :D :o

I am a Rihanna fan so obviously I want her to be popular for as long as possible, but she's been around since 2005, so there has to be a time when she becomes less relevant. If her whole album sounds like 'Diamonds' then that's not a good sign, but hopefully I'm wrong and the song smashes worldwide, and then she releases a dance smash because that's what I wanted from her.

Don't worry I'm sure Rihanna's got a few more years of shelf life

Ugh! Top 20!

How do you still not understand these polls after all the years you've been on here?! Ugh!

I don't know what you mean. I have the right to think that - Diamonds peaking only in the top 20 -, whether anyone agrees or not. It is hardly as strong as We Found Love & Where Have You Been.

Plus, just because you love Rihanna, it doesn't mean everyone should love her too.

Based on your comments though, it's like you put "top 20" because that's where you'd rather it'd peak as opposed to where you think it WILL peak. whether you love her or not, it'd be ridiculous to think this is going to peak anywhere other than top 10. It's a RIHANNA lead single.

And this is why I always split polls into two... :)

Asking people where they WANT it to peak isn't the point of the polls though, I doubt many people have a chart position in mind for a song based on their opinion besides '#1', 'FLOP' or 'don't really care'. Most people should have SOME sort of objectivity when they predict these things, it's not asking what you think of the song. I'm quite glad there's nothing below top 20 on this one, because that'd be quite ridic given it's a Rihanna lead single.

Get with the kids, Gezza. The prevalence of American television (or "TV") means that most people under 25 don't even realise they are speaking American English half the time.

I seen someone on soundcloud compare it to M83. What do others think?
Really like this. So instant for me. Nice to see a electro pop ballad song serving as lead single again too.

I quite like this, but what I like most isn't the song; it's the fact that Rihanna always manages to come out with something that no one's expecting. I mean, she had an enormous hit with WFL and then the only other big single from that same album was another dance song, yet she comes back with some big ballad.

The only thing I don't really like is the production...I just think parts of it sound really cheap and dated. I would love it if this was produced like something from Born To Die. It kind of reminds me of Summertime Sadness and I think a production like that would suit this song.

Is it really not out until November?! That's so stupid why do the UK always have to wait longer than the rest of the world
