and how on earth can Rihanna not sell more than 30K more than 1D??? when 1D is already on the fall?

Anyway.... those preorder sales were counted for the song the first day right?

The EP pre-orders were dumped in the iTunes Albums chart, so we have no idea how far ahead they really are.

And don't they have a CD single as well??

Absolutley loving Rihanna beating 1D, seriously shocked but she never disappoints with her power to get a pre-album single to #1 over anything, I thought 1D were an absolute certain 150k+ number 1 and yet Rihanna is there :o Although they could hold on with EPs/physicals, it's early in the week and they're already losing their lead.
I'm not feeling COMPLETELY comfortable in Rihanna beating 1D yet, but I am exceedingly pleased she's managed to wrest control of iTunes from them so quickly, a testament to her star power (and the amazingness of the song)
I love Rihanna and 1D are good, but I really would have liked Ellie to be leading the pack... I guess that was never going to happen but it just SOUNDS like a #1 single to me lol.
People usually refer to it as the "bridge".

The bridge is usually the pre-chorus.

In a conventional pop song it usually goes verse-chorus-verse-chorus-middle 8-chorus. So it's the clever bit before the last chorus, basically.

The have in Poland so probably as well in uk.

Muse are now 1 and 3 in the ITUNES album chart... LWWY is 4 and dropping fast I hope! 20% gap it's not a small gap in the itunes singels chart!

Adele's new song will be on ITUNES on October 21st...

it will have 2 weeks of radio supporting and HYPE, perfect timing! (and she will beating JLS?)

I heard the new JLS single for the first time earlier on Radio 1. I wonder if they will support it.. I've got to give it to them, it's a much different direction from them sonically; Justin Timberlake-y. I'm not sure if I think it's complete tripe or genius (exagerration) yet though.

Diamonds is Nick Grimshaw's R1 Breakfast shows "Big Thing" this week so he will be playing it everyday, and talking about it a bit more than he usually does with other songs. Get that 40% lead over 1D Rih! :w00t:

1.0000 Rihanna

0.7500 One Direction

0.7000 PSY

So If Rihanna is on course to do a 100K so 1D is on 75K... I wonder how much EP's they are selling... I want that info so much!!!

I'm slightly confused when it comes to the iTunes chart and the percentages that we get. Does:

Rihanna - 1.000

1D - 0.7500

actually mean that 1D are selling 25% less than Rihanna atm?

Strange how 1D are beating Rihanna in most places (they're no 2 in the US behind PSY), except here.

I guess the clues were there - their debut album sold well, but not amazingly so in the UK

Not MOST places... in her first day she got to top 20 ITUNES stores... and they are only 4,

But yeah, they are bigger in the US than in the UK in the past year.

1D are beating Rihanna in the US. Point blank.

They already have the video out and A LOT of airplay....

Are we still doubting if 1D are bigger than Rihanna at this point?? mmm

Yap, True... only there and they are already number 1 there BTW... this is the only place in the world that they are B-I-G, and not just successful :)

The confusion here arises from the fact that the UK and US label things differently and the US has an unfortunate habit of forcing its language on the rest of the world. Your structure is British, but in the US the middle 8 is usually known as the bridge.

More or less - think it's based on sales over the last

48 hours, but weighted towards the last few hours.

Example is going to PLUMMET this week!
