Presumably Spice sold a lot of cassettes then, which would make sense given their target market.

Just 7 or 8 non brit/Irish acts.

Amazing Adele only took 2.5 years to get that amount of sales.

Was going to comment about the absence of Spice as well after reading the thread but noticed it's just been brought up :lol: Probably is down to cassettes.

My sister had Spice on CD but I remember the girl living next door had it on cassette. Cassettes were still pretty big at the time. I remember getting up early in the school holidays and me and my siblings listening to my brothers cassette of Now 35 in the iamspamamispamwhoamspam whilst my mum was still in bed.

Irrelevant pop fact: Now 35 was the last Now album to get released on vinyl - and the first track on it is 'Say You'll Be There', which starts with a sound effect of crackling vinyl record. I think the last Now cassette was 64.
