October 3, 201212 yr Author Or are people just preordering the main track? (Or is this not possible - album only or similar?) Odd if not, as this would usually make it an "EP" by itunes definition and it would chart on their albums list if I'm not mistaken? It's a single. Only one track.

Odd if not, as this would usually make it an "EP" by itunes definition and it would chart on their albums list if I'm not mistaken? Sometimes iTunes has been known to class 3 tracks as a Single, it's all down to what iTunes labels it as. This has 1 track - iTunes has tagged it as a Single.
October 3, 201212 yr Thanks for the responses. I was referring to the Paloma Faith quandary if I didn't make that clear rather than Adele (slightly off topic). Still not certain how Adele will do with this. I'd think top10 at least, but not sure how massive until the movie lands. If that's a big hit too (with loads of people hearing the song) I see it going much bigger which is a distinct possibility
October 4, 201212 yr Author It's amazing! Perhaps the label will put it up soon now that it has "leaked". It's being released in less than five and a half hours anyway. What was the point of leaking it when it's so close to being properly premiered?! Although it is marked as a radio rip - but what radio station was playing it before the 7 past midnight world premiere?

It's not really a big issue though that its 'leaked' now, it's release is only a few hours away  Edited October 4, 201212 yr by Karma
October 4, 201212 yr It's good but it's not as good as I thought it was going to be. :( As you see, I have very high expectations for Adele. :P Edited October 4, 201212 yr by Griff
October 4, 201212 yr So annoying that they've leaked it. I liked the idea of it premiering at 0:07 on the 50th anniversary. I'll live in my bubble and pretend no one's heard it until then
October 4, 201212 yr I would also like to know who thought that Skyfall would peak outside the Top 40. That's got to be the most baffling prediction I've ever seen, I'm convinced that some people just take the piss...

October 5, 201212 yr I think it's a boring song with a great orchestral backing and surely her diction on "skyfawl and crumbawl" could have been a bit better? Lana Del Ray or Florence would have sung better or even Rebecca Ferguson, but Adele is singing higher notes that she can't carry.
October 5, 201212 yr I would also like to know who thought that Skyfall would peak outside the Top 40. That's got to be the most baffling prediction I've ever seen, I'm convinced that some people just take the piss... I said it won't be top 40 and I stand by that prediction. If it's not outside the top 100 on iTunes by next Sunday I'll eat my hat.
October 5, 201212 yr The song is BANG AVERAGE! I'm disappointed, melodically and lyrically it's quite dull. #1 on iTunes, i saw this morning it was #3 then looked an hour later and it was #1. Can anyone see pop bars anymore? I guess it'll be off the chart by later.
October 5, 201212 yr It sounds to me much like a 'sledgehammer' song. If the swing is successful it could be considered as a future classic, it definitely has the groove of diamonds are forever. I think the choir part may not be the best for a radio song but it gives the epic feature it should considering it is a bond theme. I love how the music is both chill out (diamonds are forever /sway style) and epic (trumpets and blured noise). Lyrically it is fine, certainly outweights most of the bond themes anyway. It is in my opinion the most glorious of all the bond-themes. I addition to this the singing is less intense than the music at parts so that it could be used throughout trailers, videos or even the very film itself. The 'epic' part may be too much for the radio but the fact it is Adele singing may take down this wall. Simple, yet with a strong flavour of mystery this song is more than what I would have expected. I am a fan of the 'epic' genre though, I am not sure how good will it go down with the casual radio audience. Will vote for no1 but I hope Leona gets a chance in the coming weeks for the no1 spot with 'Trouble'
