Yep, Capital refused to play it but was forced to play it, due to amount of request they were getting for it. But still only gave it a few spins before and thats it.

The best way to judge the X Factor is by looking how older songs jump up the chart rather than newly promoted hits (see Make you feel my love or Jason Mraz this week) it generally gets you about 25k if your lucky and near the top 10 but then of course MYFML took on a life of its own after that.

 

I think Leona has had decent radio support - radio 1 blist is decent but they wont alist her becuase basically she isnt the star she was 5 years ago, if its a hit they sometimes up the plays but id say max shell have 1 more week in the blist because it isnt really a change in direction for her so they will feel 5/6 weeks in the blist is enough.

 

She isnt top 50 on radio yet because the number of blist plays on radio 1 tends to peak on the week of release, so much so that on the week a single is released its basically getting enough spins to be on the alist. So lLeona should be top 50 on radio this week.

Capital infact had Collide on their playlist, but I never actually heard them play the song in the day-time (they've done this with lots of songs, like Rumour Has It, Level Up, Talk That Talk, Forgiveness, Overload, etc.).

 

Anybody in their right mind would choose Capital airplay over an X Factor performance.

 

On another note, it's nice to have a europop song at #1 that is actually by European artists for a change. I'm glad that Swedish House Mafia are finally looking likely to get a #1 now, I just hope Greyhound can somehow get in the top 10, so they have a full top 10 discography, but I can't think how it would. :lol:

Leona is #5 and #100 (acoustic) but she also has the EP which is #11 still, so it will be close, really hoping the Alan Carr performance will be a very nice boost. :D
