So basically the 18th November is going to be an absolute bitch of a week to release a single in. From what I've gathered in terms of other threads on this forum these are the seven biggest contenders. I'm so torn between Olly and Girls Aloud because I love both and I love both songs. I'll wait and see how everyone else votes...

i definitely think we can rule out:

Kelly Clarkson - Catch My Breath

Labrinth feat. Emeli Sande - Beneath Your Beautiful

Chris Brown - Don't Judge Me

I think Alicia Keys can do well judging by how well the fake is doing, but overall i think Girls Aloud will get #1

Chris Brown and Labrinth are already out, no chance of them getting #1 I'd say. I'd say the real contenders for #1 are GA and Olly, and I can see the girls getting there. Hopefully they will!

Labrinth/ Emeli will probably peak next week after XF Perfoemance.

I'd imagine its between Olly sand Girls Aloud - Olly will no doubt perform on XF and GA on Strictly (due to Kimberley's involvment)

Both Mcfly's & Girls Alouds comeback seems quite popular. Both trending quite a bit on Twitter today aswell.

I dunno who will be number 1 but i gather both acts will be performing on Strictly so that could give them both a boost with Harry from mcfly winning last year and one of the girls aloud is taking part this year.

I expect Olly will feature on the X factor also.

McFly? You gotta be kidding - they haven't had a #1 since physical sales became irrelevant!

Besides, their fans must've hit puberty by now... :P

Olly Murs will get it easily I think - am I really the only one so far that thinks he'll beat GA?

Labrinth and Chris Brown really should not be listed among the others as they're post-album singles.

Definitely out of Olly Murs and Girls Aloud. Girls Aloud will be the most anticipated, so I think they will be number one, unless people outside of their fans don't support it, but with Capital already backing it, I'm sure that won't be a problem.

I actually think Olly can do it and beat GA, although it will definitely be an epic #1 battle. I adore both so I couldn't possibly and I'd be happy with either, I'd plump for GA to be honest!

I'd imagine Labirinth/Emeli will peak beforehand (possibly top 10 or a similar peak to Express Yourself after an X-Factor performance, probably on an earlier or later date), Alicia Keys will probably go top 10, as will Kelly Clarkson and perhaps McFly. Dunno about Chris Brown, it's already out isn't it so I'd imagine when the video comes out or something beforehand it will peak then.

Are GA definitely releasing on 18th Nov? Is there no chance of a surprise OA/OS release?

Definitely 18th November, mango7. I'll be happy whoever gets it out of Olly or Girls Aloud because like I said I love both, and I love both songs...but if I have to choose I want Olly to get it.

It was premiered on radio today, and hasn't been released, so no. :P

Olly Murs and Girls Aloud will be the highest, but I really think Alicia will surprise. I could see her having good longevity and a Top 5.
Olly Murs will most likely be #1 but will Girls Aloud get an X Factor performance slot to promote the single? If both perform on the same results show, it could be quite a close one. There does seem to be more anticipation for the new Girls Aloud single though so who knows.
Most of the artists that were popular when I was in senior school flop now, so I'm just assuming the same will happen to Girls Aloud lol.

Of course there's going to be more anticipation for a Girls Aloud comeback single than a new Olly Murs single on BuzzJack.

I reckon it be between GA and Olly.

Also GA could do a performance on Strictly Dancing, if Kimberley has not been voted out between now and than. I don't think they get a X Factor slot, Olly will probably get the X Factor performance with someone else that weekend on the results show.

GA are most likely to get plenty of exposure that week with CIN, if they do a Strictly performance the day after CIN, they should clinch it with 2 days exposure on TV, where Olly just have the X Factor performance.

Also GA would probably be ahead on iTunes on Sunday, Olly would therefore be lagging behind until his performance in the evening. I think GA could bag the #1 slot, quite easily.

I reckon it be between GA and Olly.

I remember Girls Aloud performing on Strictly Come Dancing before, so you never know.
